  • Homely  spacious cottage in a beautiful location on the western edge of Skye
  • Peaceful with amazing panoramic views of  Dunvegan Head and across to The Outer Hebrides
  • Relax by the cosy open coal fire after a day out exploring the beautiful Island of Skye
Property code: CA229

High on a hillside on the western edge of Skye sits this pretty whitewashed bungalow, brimming with rustic charm and homely touches.

As you wind through mountains along a single-track road that leads to the cottage, you'll feel yourself falling under the spell of the Isle of Skye. Panoramic views of Dunvegan Head surround you, and on a clear day, you can glimpse the Outer Hebrides in the distance. With a local shop and licensed cafe within 2 miles and attractions such as Dunvegan Castle and Neist Point Lighthouse nearby, you can enjoy the tranquillity that this spot offers whilst never running out of things to see and do. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, whales, basking sharks, seals and sea otters as well, as they're frequently sighted in the area.

Inside, the first of two welcoming lounges offers an open coal fire, perfect for curling up in front of a DVD after a blustery stomp along nearby walking trails. The second sports a well-stocked bookshelf and glorious views out of the island's famous landscape, so you can tuck yourself away for some all-important you time. Cheerful and bright, the kitchen/dining room has all you'll need to stir up a storm and ample seating for six next to the window which overlooks glorious countryside. As it's a one-level property, the bedrooms and bathroom facilities are also on the ground floor a warm and inviting double, two twins (one with bunk beds) and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The property sits within enclosed grounds that are shared with another holiday let, but parking is private, as is the patio which overlooks the sea. Pour yourself an aperitif while dinner bubbles on the hob, and head out there for golden hour as the sun sinks below the horizon.

Lovely spacious warm cottage, with amazing enclosed space for the dogs to run about. Loved the second sitting room - the views! - and kingsize bed. Fantastic location if you prefer the remote. Views of the sea and the cliffs across from the houses living room, really handy on those colder windier and rainier days. Loved the place. House was comfortable, warm, well equipped and we felt very much at home. 100% recommend

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. We were lucky with the weather and to step outside in the morning and see eagles flying overhead was sensational. Brilliant holiday.

Good size cottage for six in a quiet location, good parking. Allow plenty of time for travel it will take you 30 minutes to travel to the A road. As Lots of traffic heading to the light house in August. Some great walks in and around the cottage. If you just want to sit in the garden some fantastic views. A fabulous cottage with stunning views. Arrived to a warm cottage, the heating was on, with all the necessaries to make a comfortable time during our stay. The Isle of Skye is breathtaking. We will be going back and hopefully the council will have repaired the roads. There's pot holes everywhere! That's the only negative about our trip
