Situated on a quiet residential street, just a short walk from the waterfront and amenities of the peaceful village of Kirn, this impressive period property is ideally situated to explore the attractions of the Firth of Clyde. Stroll to the coastal resort of Dunoon (1.5 miles) with its Victorian pier, wide promenade and welcoming restaurants serving local produce. Follow the woodland trails by cycle or foot through Corlarach Forest (2 mies) for fabulous views and a glimpse of red deer, grouse and birds of prey. Explore the magical gorge at Puck's Glen (6 mies) reputed to be home to mischievous sprites. Cross wooden bridges to discover tumbling waterfalls, ancient trees and varied wildlife. Take to the seas with a boat trip from Dunoon to Carrick Castle, The Gantocks or to get close to the wreck of the MV Captayannis.

Set back from the road and surrounded by a well-maintained lawned garden, your Victorian holiday home offers elegant accommodation for extended families or groups of friends. Pull onto the gravel driveway through the stone entrance and step through the front door to your coastal retreat where high ceilings, parquet flooring and wood panelling create a traditional country house atmosphere. The grand entrance hall has plenty of space to greet your guests and to leave coats and shoes. Three spacious living rooms offer a choice of places to relax and catch up on family news. The large family sitting room features a large bay window overlooking the garden and comfortable sofas to sink into and watch TV. The elegant drawing place is a lovely spot for quiet conversation with interesting artwork adorning the walls. For board games or a family film, cosy up in the charming snug sitting room in the warmth of the multi-fuel stove. Celebratory dinners can be prepared in the well-equipped kitchen where you will find everything you need to cater for your party including a gas range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and two additional freezers. There's also washing machines and a tumble dryer in the laundry room for your convenience and a separate pantry to store your provisions. Enjoy memorable family meals around the elegant table in the formal dining room where all guests can be accommodated. You will also find a handy bathroom on the ground floor with bath and WC. Take the sweeping staircase to the first floor where you will find four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The generous family bedroom comes with a double and single bed dressed in crisp linens with bright co-ordinating throws and cushions and benefits from an en-suite shower room with WC. Also on this floor is a double and a twin bedroom, both enjoying en-suite shower rooms with WC. A cosy single bedroom features a period washbasin in it and there is also a small bathroom with WC. Head up a further flight of stairs to the second floor where you will find another family bedroom with both a double bed and twin beds dressed in bright throws and an en-suite shower room with WC. Two inviting double bedrooms are light and airy with en-suite shower rooms with WCs. On this floor, you will also find the double suite with separate sitting room to enjoy your morning coffee or curl up with a good book. Your suite also enjoys an en-suite shower room with WC. Take the stairs to the third floor where there are two twin bedrooms again both with en-suite shower rooms with WC.

To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden overlooking Cowal golf-course. Sit on the terrace with a cup of tea and watch the golfers practise their swings. Large house with plenty of room, we had six cars and no problem parking and a wonderful garden at the rear and safe for children. We had a couple of problems during our stay but the owner came out straight away and fixed them. Kitchen a bit small but we managed okay with 16 of us.
