Situated in a tranquil spot on the northern side of the island, this idyllic property offers a wonderful retreat for a couple or young family on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

This traditional little cottage has been decorated in a fresh, contemporary style that is evident as you enter through the front door. The lovely lounge has an open fire and a comfy sofa - the perfect spot to snuggle up and watch a family film in the evening after a day out in the fresh air. Next door, the immaculate little galley kitchen is superbly well-equipped for whipping up some simple meals. There is a handy foldaway table in the lounge. Also on the ground floor is the spacious master bedroom, with a king-size bed, and decorated in soft, relaxing blue tones, as well as the family bathroom, with a shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Upstairs on the first floor are two pretty single bedrooms with sloping ceilings, and between them a super little den for younger guests who will love having their own secret space to play in. Outside there is a large grassed area, along with a little bistro table for two where you can sit and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains over a glass of wine.

The island of Skye boasts a huge range of activities and attractions. Children and adults will love exploring dramatic Dunvegan Castle (29 miles) and its gorgeous gardens, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to try, from abseiling to kayaking – Whitewave, Skye's outdoor centre, based at Kilmuir (28 miles), has activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Keen walkers will enjoy some superb routes, including the famous Old Man of Storr (20 miles) and also the Quiraing (9.5 miles) – a spectacular circular walk of 6.8 miles of dramatic scenery. Head to pretty Portree (14.5 miles), the island capital and enjoy a stroll around the shops and cafes, or head down to the harbour from where a number of boat trips are available to go and spot the impressive local wildlife, from dolphins and seals to white-tailed eagles and puffins.

A lovely wee cottage, modernised sympathetically and thoughtfully. I loved the various paintings showing local scenes. Also loved the family photos above the fireplace which gave a nice connection to the original owners. A great location for exploring Trotternish and beyond.

Great secluded location with everything you might need for a relaxing break as a couple/young family. Sleeps 4 but would say not 4 adults. Lovely outdoor space too.

Lovely well equiped cottage set in a small glen with a visitor attraction on doorstep. Warm and cosy once the heating is on, open fire is a good addition. Garden is very pleasant and the star gazing at night is incredible. Wildlife in the garden included Buzzard and Ravens as well as Redpoll.

The cottage is very small - perfect for a couple or with younger children (good space for playing upstairs). Our teenagers kept bumping their heads on the ceilings in their bedrooms and the sitting room felt cramped. The beds are comfortable and the view is lovely. The kitchen is tiny but well equipped (with an unusually large freezer for a holidayRead more home - ideal for bringing lots of ready prepared food not so much for cooking from scratch). The area has lots of stunning scenery and walks. Hide

This is a gorgeous, cute cottage. Well appointed and full of mod cons. Despite rural location, wi fi is excellent and a large selection of tv channels are available.
