Heading upstairs you will discover the three bedrooms – one double, another double with an extra single bed ideal for families, and a single bedroom – all of which are decorated in a tasteful contemporary style with colourful bed linen. In the morning, enjoy an invigorating start to the day in the bright, smart shower room before heading down to breakfast.

Really enjoyed our stay at Taigh Ailein. Location by the sea on Isle of Harris was fantastic and cottage had all the facilities we needed. Would definitely return for stay again.

We stayed here for a week with three young children and our dog. The house is lovely, modern, clean and comfortable! Lovely peaceful location in a stunning island.

Taigh Ailein is very modern, clean, warm and comfortable. We've used cottages in Scotland for the past 15 years and it's as good as any we've stayed at. The location is so beautiful and peaceful, with wildlife all around. We had regular sightings of the local otter from the cottage and lots of bird life including red throated diver, waders and wildRead morefowl. We were made to feel very welcome by Ian and Lizzie, thank you. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Taigh Ailein. Hide

A lovely house, well equiped, and in a beautiful location. You couldn't wish for more. We have been visiting Scotland 2 or 3 times a year for over 35 years and this ranks amongst one of the very best properties we have stayed in.

The cottage is located right on the waterfront with great walks out to the headlands. Inside it is very well decorated with very modern rooms and fittings. The kitchen is large with every need catered for. Perhaps a bit more guidance on local amenities and recycling / rubbish arrangements would be useful but this was only a minor niggle.
