This old farm bothy has been lovingly converted into a stylish country hideaway, with a romantic open-plan interior and uninterrupted views of rural Perthshire on all sides.

The cottage is set in a rural location in the midst of stunning hills and woodland. Head out of your door to discover wild walks and cycle rides or journey the mile and a half to the pretty village of Dunning where you can have a spot of lunch at one of the local pubs. From here, the sights of the Highlands extend in all directions — 11 miles away, try the city of Perth for independent shops, eateries, and historical sites, or drive the 16 miles to the outskirts of the Lomond Hills, perfect for an adventurous walk.

Find the property itself on the edge of a collection of farm buildings. Traditional on the outside, yet with a stunning modern interior, the ground level is complete with a cosy pair of armchairs by an ornamental fireplace and TV, a romantic eating area set for two, and a handy kitchen set away with everything you need to create lovely meals. A handy bathroom with a shower is great for getting energised for exploring, and upstairs, your bedroom on the mezzanine level has a relaxing double bed and provides a tranquil retreat at the end of an active day.

Outside, an enclosed garden with a pretty eating area is the ideal spot to relax and soak in the atmosphere of the hills.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is the second time my husband, myself and the dog have had a break at this property and we love it. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

The Bothy has been converted to a high standard, is well maintained and was very clean for our arrival. The owners have made good use of the available space and, as such, have managed to fit in everything needed for a 2 person (and dog!) holiday. The kitchen is small but well equipped and perfectly suitable for holiday cooking. There is a good sizeRead mored fridge with freezer compartment which was handy for us as our dog is raw-fed. I'm never sure exactly what to expect will be provided in self catering accommodation, but it was clear that the owners put thought into things which can make your stay easier: tea towels and dish sponge; washing up liquid; hand soap; kitchen roll; shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. On arrival there was a pint of milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and fresh eggs from their hens. The accommodation is ideally located for exploring much of Scotland, whether you are looking for a rural or an urban holiday with several cities within very easy driving distance. We took advantage of the many walks in the area which our dog loved! The phone signal at The Bothy is not great but free WiFi is provided and was a good speed. The accommodation also has Sky TV. The owners were very warm and helpful when we spoke on the phone and in person. Hide

From the moment we arrived to the moment we (reluctantly) left we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bothy. The fresh, home-produced eggs and the milk provided to get us started were most gratefully received. The water is very good and makes a great brew. The views from the accommodation are far-reaching and very mesmerising. Bob and Sue are the veRead morery gracious and accommodating owners whose suggested dog-walks were spot-on for our dog. The Bothy provides a great base for exploration and it is easy to get to Edinburgh for events there. The facilities at The Bothy were exactly right for our needs for a week and the nearby Nisa shop has a surprisingly good range of the usual products plus freshly baked items and local produce. It has a good wine selection. We recommend the fish and chip/Chinese takeaway in Auchterader (its called 168). This is an ideal location for a couple who want to enjoy a peaceful and quiet escape.
