The Farmhouse Bothy is the most wonderful place to stay if you like getting away from it all! It is extremely comfortable and cosy thanks to the woodturning stove, with a very well equipped kitchen area, and fantastic views of the sea and Ailsa Craig from the bedroom and sitting room. We loved being on a working farm as not only did we have the pleRead moreasure of playing with the very friendly collie dogs but we also enjoyed fresh meat and vegetables from the farm. Highly recommend! Hide

We had a perfect stay at the Farmhouse Bothy. Lovely view over the beach and sea, Pete and Nicky are really very kind people who enjoyed to share information over this beautiful peace of Scotland with us. And the 7 border collies ofcourse... Nicely, beautiful dogs that couldn't wait to go for a walk with us to the beach (a must do)!

The cottage was warm, cosy, very well equipped and in a most beautiful location. Situated in a working farm, the hosts were super welcoming and friendly, and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved it!

Spectacular location with personal guides for route to the beach ( at least 2 collies) from the bothy on a working farm.

Very nice cottage. Everything you need amenity wise inside. It's attached to the main farmhouse on a working farm with a pack of sheep dogs in the courtyard who are very friendly but do like attention so not for anyone scared of dogs. There's also an opportunity to take them a walk past the cows, sheep and pigs if you are interested. The hosts Pete Read moreand Nikki are very friendly. There is a wonderful restaurant within walking distance (lagg hotel - booking required). The islands main amenities however are not and a car is required as the nearest shop is over 10miles away. Arran itself is a wonderful place to visit with something for everyone - scenic walks, golf, shopping, fishing, good restaurants Hide

The cottage was easy to find and equipped as per description. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The whole island is a wonderful place to enjoy a really peaceful, relaxing holiday. But . . . The bothy is becoming rather 'tired' and is in need of a thoroughly cleaning. Though on first view everything seems okay, that was not the reRead moreality - every surface wiped over left my anti-bac wipes black. The wet room has no equipment to clean up after showering (tiling, sink pedestal and toilet base needed cleaning - I don't mind cleaning up my own 'mess' but refuse to do others) the vacuum was unusable due to dust bag being completely full (no replacement found). I am aware that the owners are extremely busy farming but that should not preclude cleaning between each letting. The bed was the only really clean and comfortable place. Hide
