Studded into a backdrop of volcanic cliffs, this quirky beach house is literally part of the rugged landscape, with rooftop sea views and direct access to the beach.

Set behind the dunes at St Cyrus beach within a National Nature Reserve, this property has a rich history and is packed with personality. The beach itself is strikingly beautiful with clean sand, dramatic waterfalls and plenty of caves to explore. The village inn and local coffee shop are less than 1 mile away, ideal for a tempting treat before setting off on an adventure.

Once used to host locally caught salmon, this former icehouse has been lovingly refurbished to complement the original stone walls, high ceilings and overall structure of the property. The open-plan interior is simply delightful, with wooden floors, comfortable furniture and homely details. A crackling wood burner creates a wonderfully warm atmosphere, tucked underneath the mezzanine overlooking the sitting area. Whip up family feasts in the country-cottage-style kitchen, gathering around the dining table to enjoy quality time together. Bedtime is a real treat with three elegant bedrooms to choose from; the two downstairs bedrooms have patio doors leading outside, whereas the upstairs king-size bedroom has a beautifully curved ceiling and unique layout. The main bathroom can also be found on the ground floor, featuring a sauna for a spot of pampering.

Prepare to be amazed as you step outside the property to discover over 3.5 acres of land, many of which form part of the nature reserve. The top of the house offers panoramic views of the sea, where you can perch with a picnic on the grass to take in your surroundings. The garden also has a BBQ, fire pit, two patio areas and seating areas for al fresco dining, rounded off by a stroll along the beach, accessed via a bridge leading across the dunes to the sea.
