A beautiful cottage inspired by the curves of a seashell, on Scotland''s wild west coast. This is a real escape from the world, perfect for romantic couples.

If you've ever wanted to experience life in harmony with nature, this little cottage will suit you perfectly. Overlooking the stunning Loch Sunart, it's completely secluded and surrounded by wilderness. It was built to blend in, with a turf roof and walls of local timber and stone. Sleeping just two, it's a heavenly romantic hideaway. There's little to do except appreciate the views and indulge in long walks over the surrounding hills before heading back for a cosy evening. For supplies, the town of Salen, 9 miles away, has a general store and a hotel with a bar and restaurant. Kilchoan, 12 miles away, is the jumping-off point for ferries to the Isle of Mull.

Inside, the accommodation is light and bright, with a large open-plan living and sleeping space that makes the most of the views. Windows let in light all around the curved design, which faces mostly south, making the most of the light. The lounge area, with comfortable armchairs and a sofa, is the perfect place to curl up with a book by the window. To keep the place warm, even on the coldest and wildest of winter days, there is an open fire and underfloor heating. The kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The dining area is perfectly set up with a table for two by the window. There is a built-in double bed an indulgent spa bath, as well as a rainfall shower in the separate bathroom.

Outside, there is a terrace overlooking the loch, with garden furniture and a stone-built BBQ. There is plenty of space for parking.

Fantastic week in a stunning location! House has incredible views and is so peaceful. Great for wildlife (birds, badgers, pine martens and hairy cows) and rest/relaxation. Jacuzzi tub is lovely. And coffee/wine on the terrace. New buildings going up in the area, but no impact on the stay. Visitor centre and Sanna a must visit. Great week away!!

Have been going to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula for the last few years and the Seashell is up there with the best location for a stay. Waking up to that view every morning is the closest you'll get to perfection.

Beautiful location and perfect property for a romantic getaway. Stunning views and a well equipped lodge. Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. Everything was of a good/high standard (furniture, kitchen, bathroom etc), and much better than other rentals we looked at, which often looked very dated. Our stay at the Seashell far exceeded our expectations. The accommodation was so clean and comfortable it made us feel totally relaxed. The views from the cottage were superb there was so much to look at. If you love nature this is the place to be, eagles, pine martens and deer on your doorstep. We will definitely be back.

The lodge is a fabulous place to stay, the location is spectacular. We had a marvellous holiday and the weather was a real bonus. Anyone who likes solitude will not be disappointed, really great to get away from it all. The "welcome pack" of a huge delicious sponge cake and a bottle of prosecco was a nice touch.

We had a lovely holiday at The Seashell. Despite the weather- rain, hail, snow, wind and sunshine all in one week! - it was great to get back to our cosy and warm cottage at the end of each day. Pour yourself a glass of wine , throw some logs on the fire and watch the amazing landscape through the huge windows. Wonderful!

Absolutely amazing place. Weve visited two Februarys in a row and love it. Be aware at that time of year its very quiet, nothing is open. But perfect isolation. Just take all supplies with you and you can hibernate in total bliss. The cottage is spectacular, clean, stunning views and completely private. Just love it!
