Let the highlands of Loch Lomond be your playground at this peaceful spot on the edge of The Trossachs National Park. This gorgeous stone property is the perfect location to get away from it all, thanks to its thoughtfully designed interior, roominess and huge garden. Head out walking or spend a day visiting the 19th-century Buchanan Castle in Drymen (5 miles), or head to Glasgow (20 miles) for a day out in the city before returning to this cosy, stylish property for a satisfying night's sleep.

The property has been beautifully renovated into a welcoming light-filled space with a modern feel. On the ground floor, cook up delicious feasts using local ingredients in the well-equipped kitchen. It has a beautiful wooden floor and a dining room with French doors leading out into the garden. Meals can be shared in the dining room, which has an exposed stone wall and French doors leading to a decked area outside. The sitting room is a cosy spot to relax in the evenings, either with a novel or your favourite box set – if it's a bit chilly, throw a couple of logs on the wood burner and enjoy their warm glow as you snuggle under a blanket. The lower floor also has a cosy twin bedroom, a double room with a four-poster bed and the main bathroom, where you can take a soak in a roll-top bath. Head upstairs to the master double, a stunning room with a vaulted ceiling, complete with an en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. This area has a Juliet balcony looking over the living space, creating a spacious and inclusive atmosphere.

The garden has a large lawn for the dog to doze contentedly on and several eating areas. Relax on the terrace on sunny afternoons, sizzling up a BBQ to feast on together. You can park up to two cars in the driveway.

Great location for us to visit friends. Useful having downstairs bedrooms and a downstairs bathroom with a walk in shower as one of our party had mobility problems. Great selection of games, jigsaw puzzles and books for inclement weather.

Positives - It's as it looks in the listing. Well equipped kitchen & plenty of space. Games & books provided. Good location for lots of attractions within 30-60m drive. Negatives - Cottage cold on arrival (not welcoming) with no control over the main heating. Wooden decking very slippery when wet. Few bin bags and no dish washer tablets. Overall - Read more4* due to lack of heating control but otherwise would recommend despite this though you probably couldnt just stay in during the day in winter. Hide

Lovely cottage, had everything we needed. Owner was very helpful, we arrived during a snow storm and they kept us informed of the road conditions and had the log burner on for our arrival so the cottage was warm.

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage is very well maintained and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of crockery and cooking pans. Although I took things usually needed for self catering holidays such as bin bags t towels etc I neednt have as everything was provided. Plenty of lovely walks and things to see in theRead more area and very close to Loch Lomond. I would recommend the cottage and the area without hesitation. Hide

Had a wonderful week exploring Gravelfoyle and surrounding area. Unfortunately no walks from the back door but only a short car journey to the forest for the dogs. The cottage is lovely, although parts of the kitchen and utensils could benefit from being renewed. A cosy feel to the place after a day out was a bonus and the log burner is a real asseRead moret. Doyles Cafe in Balfron is a must for pizza on a Friday evening, such a welcoming place. Loved the area and shall return Hide

Just home from a lovely holiday at The Steadings. The owners made us feel really welcome and comfortable. The cottage was lovely, modern and bright with everything you could need. We used this as a base to begin our journey discovering The West Highland Way and was not disappointed.
