Comfortable and inviting, this delightful property is set in the heart of a small Perthshire town with breathtaking surroundings.

Famously described as “the fairest portion of the northern kingdom”, Perthshire is a stunning combination of spectacular landscapes, ancient woodland and serene lochs. To the east is the historic town of Alyth, where you'll find this charming property, With the dramatic Den O' Alyth on your doorstep, you'll be able to don your walking boots and set off to investigate the deep wooded valley with tumbling burns, refuelling with a hearty meal at the local inn. If you venture further to the twin Burghs of Blairgowrie and Rattray 6 miles away, Cargill's Leap, Rae Loch and the Knockie are just a few of the breathtaking sights to explore.

The property itself is cosy and welcoming, made all the more special by thoughtful details such as a welcome pack on arrival, accompanied by tea, coffee, sugar and all the essentials you'll need for your stay. The bright lighting, fresh decor and wooden floors and doorways add to the wonderfully homely atmosphere. Enter via the entrance hall to find the utility room, country-cottage style kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom with a separate WC. The split-level lounge is the heart of the home, made deliciously warm by a crackling multi-fuel stove and three comfortable sofas. Step down to the dining area for family feasts around the table, whipped up in the well-equipped kitchen. Weary from a day of adventures; climb the open-timber stairs and choose from three snug bedrooms for a restful night's sleep. The king-size bedroom even has a handy shower room, or perhaps you would prefer a long soak in the main bathroom.

Outside, the gravel driveway offers ample off-road parking, and the courtyard garden has a secluded area with seating for a lunchtime picnic.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely spacious cottage with everything you could want away from home. And a friendly welcome from Jackie. Friendly village with pubs, serving food all within walking distance, the Lossett Inn was the best. Small supermarket and good butchers in village plus coffee shop. Loved the fantastic scenery looking out from the Queens View at Loch Tummel. TRead morehe beach at Lunan bay is amazing, it's a huge with lovely soft sand. Dunkeld is a pretty village with plenty of places to eat. St Andrews is worth the visit, the castle and cathedral. Hide

This was a lovely, welcoming and spacious house with everything we needed, and more besides. The small homely touches like providing tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and sweeties and condiments were appreciated, even tin foil, cling film, etc. All cleaning products and cloths were provided. It was just like being in someone's well-kitted home. We actuaRead morelly took nothing but food with us and we needed to buy nothing extraneous. It was very clean as well. There are only three comments we would make. One is the lack of curtains downstairs. We felt very vulnerable in the evenings with the lights on (and nets do not give privacy). As a result, we closed the high gates (one is extremely heavy to lift to lock) but this didn't provide the privacy and cosiness we would have liked. So, apart from needing them all year round, I'm sure they would be much appreciated in winter when the log burner is going. The second one is the lack of an outside area to relax in when it's sunny. As a result, there were no loungers and the bench table was in the shade in the evenings. Thirdly, the proximity to the recycling area is unfortunate resulting in noise late in the evening and early morning with bottles being tossed in. Hide

We thought the property was very clean and presentable. Jackie was very efficient. There is lots of space inside, however, by the time a couple of vehicles were parked on the drive there was not a great amount of area outside, for example if you wanted to
