Only a short walk across the paddock from the shoreline, this impressive holiday home enjoys an unparalleled location overlooking the sea with its resident Dunvegan seals and otters. Lace up your walking boots for a hike along Macleod's Tables (4.5 miles) for beautiful views across Loch Dunvegan and Loch Bracadale. Explore the picturesque village of Dunvegan (3.5 miles), discover the legends of ancient Dunvegan Castle and step back in time at the Colbost Croft Museum. Step aboard a pleasure cruiser for an exhilarating ride across Loch Dunvegan in search of seals and other sea life. Visit the bustling town of Portree (14.5 miles) and watch the fishermen unload their catches in the harbour before treating yourself to local seafood in one of the harbourside restaurants.

Your beautiful white-washed coastal cottage sits at the end of a single-track road surrounded by glorious countryside and open skies. Step into the spacious hallway with polished floorboards covered with bright rugs. There's a comfortable pew-style seat to sit and remove shoes or walking boots and a baby grand piano sits in the corner for you to tickle the ivories in the evening. A wonderful space for socialising and conversation, your sitting room/kitchen/diner is a generous open-plan space stretching the full length of the house. The many long windows and door to the garden flood the room with natural light and bring the outside in. At one end of the room, comfortable sofas and chairs are arranged around the wood burner, inviting you to sit and catch up on family news late into the evening. At the other end of the room, the AGA stove emits its welcoming heat making this a cosy space all year round. Share leisurely suppers around the centrally positioned farmhouse-style table served on colourful crockery from the traditional dresser. The party's cook will find the kitchen area is equipped with everything needed to prepare hearty meals, including a four-door AGA, fridge/freezer, additional fridge and microwave. For your comfort, a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided. Catch up on the morning news or curl up with a good book in the cosy snug, a lovely room to enjoy a family film in the evening. You also have a handy utility room with drying area off the kitchen and for freshening up after a long walk, there's a convenient ground floor shower room with WC. Head up the dog-leg staircase to the first floor where you will find a large landing leading to the bedrooms. Two well-appointed twin bedrooms, one with lovely sea and castle views, the other with views across the mountains, are dressed in cosy duvets with plump pillows. The generous double bedroom is warm and inviting with cosy throws and soothing tones. The lovely family bathroom has a bath with shower over, separate shower cubicle and a WC. While away the hours watching the ever-changing colours of the seascape from the snug seating area on this floor. Take the stairs to the second floor where you will find a small library on the landing to choose your holiday read from. On this level are a further two spacious double bedrooms, one with sea views and one overlooking the mountains. The final bedroom is a light and airy twin bedroom with sea views. The bathroom on this floor is stunning, with an indulgent free-standing bath for long soaks, separate shower cubicle and WC. Heading back to the ground floor, a separate staircase leads to the games room where you can get competitive with table-tennis, table football and darts. Two additional single beds can be found in this room.

Outside, you can play garden games on the fully enclosed lawn or spread your blanket for an al fresco picnic lunch. Walk through the garden and across the paddock and you are at the shoreline where you can paddle or even swim in the crystal-clear waters. Your holiday home comes with its own boathouse and you can hire a boat at Dunvegan jetty to putter around the loch.


Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
