This neat cottage with views over open fields sleeps up to five, making it a great choice for families or groups wanting to explore the rugged Isle of Arran.

Located just 9 miles from the ferry terminal at Brodick, the house is perfectly placed for those who want to roam the island. It's set in a small residential cul-de-sac with some beautiful forest and moorland walks on the doorstep. It's 3 miles from the coast and 5 miles from Machrie Moor Standing Stones, one of the island's top attractions. Shiskine Golf & Tennis Club, a popular 12-hole links golf course, is also 3 miles from the house and has a well-regarded clubhouse on-site too. Head to King's Cave car park, 3 miles away, for a nice circular walk to see the historic caves, or start at Blackwaterfoot, 3 miles, and walk along to Drumadoon Point for a coastal stroll.

The single-storey house has a user-friendly layout, with a modern interior that feels like a home-from-home. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, and a dishwasher to make those clean-ups less hassle. The island breakfast bar with stools is great for chatting to the chef or enjoying a lazy morning coffee with the papers, and the living/dining next door has a table for six when everyone wants to sit down together. Gather everyone after dinner for a cosy movie night, with ample room for everyone on the two comfortable sofas and an electric fire for those chilly evenings, or delve into the collection of board games to get the competitive spirit going. Those who enjoy a good soak will love the bathroom with an oversized tub, and the welcoming bedrooms each have an individual style. With a double that has an en-suite shower room with a WC, a twin and a single, there should be a configuration that suits most parties.

Outside, the enclosed garden wraps right around the house, perfect for dogs to explore safely, with seating on two sides and a gravel driveway with room for two cars.

Very well equipped spacious cottage. Close to Blackwaterfoot beach (Park near Shiskine golf club) and the fabulous Blackwater bakehouse - fresh baking daily! Good location, easy to get to nearby beaches & standing stone circles at Machrie moor. 20 minutes to ferry & main shops at Brodick. On main bus routes going north to Lochranza Castle/ferry or Read moresouth to Kildonan sands (beautiful) Hide

We enjoyed our stay very much. Cottage is very well equipped. Garden is dog friendly and secure. We loved the Bakehouse at Blackwaterfoot. Very tasty. The beaches all over the island are fantastic, but we particularly enjoyed Lamlash and the Octopus centre was extremely informative. Great cottage in a fab location to explore the island.

Centrally located on Arran, this cottage is perfect for exploring the whole island. Peaceful cottage within beautiful countryside. Very spacious, warm, all the facilities you'll need and very clean. Also great for a dog as the garden is fully enclosed.

Great cottage had everything we needed. Lovely comfy beds. Location was good but did find it a little tricky to find the cottage to start with. Lovely island. Will definitely be back.

In the house everything was fine, clean, and functional. The position was excellent because all places were equally distant from the house. A big value. In the isle, where we came especially for taking pictures, we enjoyed all the walk and the trekkings. We loved especially the Blackwater bakery in Blackwaterfoot and the Sandwich station in LochranRead moreza. And we were astonished about the many pheasants and blackberries all around! Hide

This house was first class and an excellent first holiday for our 4 month old Cocker Spaniel - Oli. The fully enclosed garden was brilliant and we did not need for anything at the property. Very clean and comfortable.
