Cosy cottage with creature comforts, hot tub and garden in Whittington, where you can walk to the pub, shop and 12th century castle. A perfect location to relax, enjoy culture and explore Shropshire.

Whatever your interest, it’s all on offer here, whether it’s good food, boutique shopping, castles, country houses and gardens, steam trains, horse drawn canal trips, theatre, music events or just relaxing. Amble around the village, pop to Oswestry just a short drive, follow the town trail, discover its history and enjoy culinary delights in the cafes, bars and restaurants. There’s a unique range of shops, the farmers market and its well-preserved hilltop Iron Age fort, great for walking and to enjoy marvellous views. The kitchen area is well-equipped with all the thoughtful little extras alongside the electric range oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining table is perfectly positioned the window to gather round for a meal and plan your holiday activities. After dinner relax in the lounge on the comfy sofas, listen to music or watch a film on the Smart TV or lose yourself if a good book by the glow of the feature wood burner effect gas fire. Upstairs on the first floor, you have two bedrooms to choose from, both have been designed for a good night’s sleep. Take the sumptuous king-size with TV/DVD or the spacious single. To compliment the accommodation is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside there is an enclosed garden by the back door with table and chairs, perfect to enjoy a morning coffee, or walk through to the secret enclosed garden to relax amongst the trees, enjoy al fresco dining and unwind in the hot tub. There is private off-road parking for one car at the property, and if you are bringing you bike you can use the lockable shed.

Great location, very clean and comfortable, had fish & chips from chip shop, didn't use any of the pubs! Parking maybe a bit tight if you have a large car, we had no problems. we didn't use hot tub, don't do hot tubs! Garden was at the back of the 2 other gardens, it was very secure for our dog!!

Just back from a fantastic stay. Whittington is a lovely village - a perfect location for exploring Oswestry and the surrounding area. The cottage was spacious and spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a weekend break. The welcome basket was a nice touch too. We loved the hot tub and it heated it up within an hour and a half on the second Read moreday. Weve never stayed anywhere as dog friendly - bowls/towels and even doggy bags provided. Lovely cottage - very cosy. Quite a small lounge, but comfy. It was a bit expensive we thought for the spec - I guess youre paying for the hot tub really. Beautiful fairy lit (30 metre?) path down to the hot tub at the bottom of the garden. Parents of babies be aware the baby monitor doesnt reach the hot tub so we had to tub in turns. Just spent christmas at this beautiful cottage. Had a fantastic time exploring the local area, with whittington castle, langollen, the aquaduct and oswestry, all within easy reach. Just returned from a four night stay. We were impressed with the facilities and especially dog friendly. Cottage was clean and well equipped. We loved the hot tub in the garden , it was easy to use and there was plenty of paper, kindling and logs to use. Nicely equipped cottage with a secret garden. Hot tub was a nice gimmick although we only used a couple of times as took a while to heat which isnt always convenient. Adjacent to a busy A-road so expect some traffic noise. Cottage is well placed for exploring Shropshire and North east Wales.

What a wonderful place to spend 2 weeks exploring the Shropshire / Wales area. The home was perfect for the 3 of us and exceptionally clean. The hot tub is wood fired so not instant (3 hours) but it does hold the heat and subsequent heating takes a lot less time. Its a real treat after a day sight-seeing and walking the canals. Lovely break - cottage had everything we needed. The hot tub took a long time to heat up the first time but it was pretty straightforward. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub is a challenge as it has to be heated by burning logs and takes 4 - 5 hours to heat which means one is restricted to stay in to keep adding logs to the fire. There is only one parking space and cottage on a busy road making parking for guests difficult. Lovely place and lovely area close to everything you need. Very clean and the garden is a beautiful sun trap! Nice welcome pack with crisps, fresh milk, and cake. Hot tub is a delight, it takes 3-3.5 hours with dry wood.. No washing machine. Overall a lovely stay and highly recommended.
