Twyford is a peaceful hamlet offering a slice of idyllic rural living, yet within easy reach of great amenities and attractions. The nearby market town of Shaftesbury, home to Gold Hill, which was used as the backdrop for the famous Hovis ad in the 1970’s is well serviced by choice of pubs and shops selling essential supplies. Lovers of the outdoors can head some of the many local beauty spots within easy reach, including Cranborne Chase and Bulbarrow Hill. To the South is the stunning Jurassic coastline, home to some of Dorset’s most photographed landmarks, such as Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Or perhaps stroll through the water meadows in Blandford Forum before testing out a Dorset cream tea.

The shared gravel driveway leads directly to the main entrance into this detached property. Once inside you are met with a welcoming hallway leading firstly to a stylish open plan kitchen/diner straight ahead of you. With a bright and airy ambience, this well-equipped space is the ideal central meeting point for family suppers. There is a traditional style oil fired range, electric oven and hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer and dishwasher on offer. Leading on from this room is a cosy snug with inglenook fireplace, wood burner and Smart TV. Heading next door brings you to the lounge which really shows off the character of this traditional property. There is a wonderful fireplace, with a second wood burner, Smart TV/DVD and inviting sofa’s that encourage you to rest a while. Also on the ground floor there is a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. A separate WC and also a games room with study space. Heading upstairs from the entrance hall you will find a striking galleried landing, which is the ideal spot to settle down with a good book. There are a choice of bedrooms here, including a super-king-size zip-and-link (can be arranged as a twin on request), a king-size and a cosy twin room. These bedrooms share the contemporary bathroom which has a bath, separate shower and WC. Finally, you will come to a super-king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, which includes a fabulous roll top bath perfect for a long soak and a WC.

Stepping outside from the hallway you will find a patio area and herb garden with furniture to the side of the property, where you can light the charcoal BBQ and cook up a storm. An area of lawn wraps around the back of the property to a second patio area, which has a hot tub and lovely views over the pastureland beyond. To the front of the property is a parking area suitable for four vehicles.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a beautiful property, spacious but very cozy. With its two fireplaces, large kitchen, game's room and 4 large bedrooms to which my 5 year old had a super size bed... Greenstones is a lovely cottage which we felt at home in instantly. It is light and airy and very comfortable. The owners had thought of everything and our granddaughters loved the dolls house! The hot tub had the best views. Everything was perfect and we had the best time. We loved the kitchen and everything had been thoughtfully done.

If you fancy lounging around and having full reign of a cottage that feels like a 5 star hotel then Greenstones is for you! Family and pet friendly, we found everything to be thoughtful and perfect from the hot tub and fluffy robes and slippers to the amazing garden and indoor fire places. So many relaxing nooks! The ideal country retreat.

Greenstones is the perfect place for children and adults. Everything has been well thought out - there are lots of games for the kids and luxurious interiors/appliances for the adults to appreciate (in rain or sunshine). It is set in a beautiful location. Spacious hot tub for evening relaxation or even to watch the sun rise in the morning. Rachael Read moreand Mark were the perfect hosts. A beautiful, immaculate, very well equipped farm house. Everything we needed And more was provided and nothing was too much trouble. We didnt have to leave if we didnt want too. Great cottage really helpful and friendly owners. We had a wonderful week with our kids and grandchildren, they all loved the cottage and garden, it had everything you needed and more, plus the hot tub which everyone enjoyed.

Perfect family getaway, stunning accommodation in a beautiful part of Dorset with many short walks at your door step and some lovely places to see under an hour away. This place has everything you need, the owners have really thought about what people need and delivered on it. With many seating areas this property is a great for a social family.
