A spacious Edwardian property containing period features with its high ceilings, this wonderful family home is in the one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Isle of Wight, Shanklin. There is so much to do and see here, whether you are holidaying as a family or a couple. From long stretches of sandy beaches to the geological feature that is Shanklin Chine. A trip to the old village is not to be missed with its pretty thatched cottages, small gifts shops and tea rooms. Take a trip to Shanklin Chine, a cliff garden that winds up the hill at the south end of the beach. Plant and tree enthusiasts are in for a treat.

After taking the 6 steps up to the front door, enter into the most inviting of hallways with its high ceilings and wide halls, it’s a true reflection of the Edwardian style of this period property. The lounge is the first room you encounter with a smart TV, after a busy day exploring what the Isle of Wight has to offer you can come in here, sit back and relax. Further along is where you’ll find the games room, with a piano and pool table which can be converted into a ping pong table, along with an assortment of board games, children needn’t be bored in this house. The open-plan kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, along with dining table large enough to seat the whole group comfortably, is located at the back of the house on the ground floor, a lovely space for families to gather at mealtimes. Head up the impressive staircase to the first floor where you will come across the four bedrooms, two super-king-size bedrooms, a triple single room, and a cosy single. Completing the accommodation is a bathroom with separate shower and spa bath which the children will love, and an additional shower room with shower, small hand basin and WC just next door.

Find the beautiful enclosed rear garden up 5 steps. A place where guests can enjoy a morning coffee or some al fresco dining at the sun trapped patio, with comfy garden furniture. This fantastic area is an ideal setting for all the family to gather after a busy day exploring the island. There is also a useful and lockable bicycle storage shed with bicycle racks, ideal for the cyclists of the group. Parking is available on a first come first served basis with roadside parking at the front of the house.

Spacious house in a very good location. Just a few minutes from the cliff walk and 10 minute walk down to the beach. The house was spotless and well equipped. The games room has a pool table which converts to a table tennis table and was great fun. The garden is small and quite shaded with a small seating area. No, I would not stay here again. Outdated mix of worn furniture. Garden and frontage severely overgrown and unkept blocking light into the house. Rattan in garden table broken away. Damp patches. Bad lighting in house. Too many old books, mis-matched faded pictures on walls, various ornaments and fake flowers. Broken window locks and curtain hooks Read moreoff rails. This place is a little gem in an Amazing location, 5min walk to one of the best beaches on the IOW. 10 min walk to Shanklin Chine. 2 mins walk from the Hideaway for drinks and food. Parking outside is plenty (even in August Holidays), two bathrooms for a large group was great. We had 3 small kids and there were toys, games, kids cutlery and beds. This cottage is a beautiful space and there is plenty of it. Lovely sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen and the added bonus of a fun games room. The location is fantastic and it's easy to park. Wonderful cottage, excellent location right near the cliff path, close to the shops. Comfortable accommodation for 7 adults, The cottage had been decorated for Christmas and there was a nice welcome gift on arrival.
