Teignmouth is a charming coastal town situated on the estuary of the River Teign, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town is best known for its family friendly beaches, the main beach is a long sandy stretch that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. Walk along the 1.8 mile long promenade savouring the views. Enjoy fish & chips and Devonshire cream tea in the towns wide variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes. There is also a quieter river beach, where you can catch the small passenger ferry across to the attractive unspoilt village of Shaldon, with its fishing harbour, zoo and Smugglers’ Tunnel. On top of this, Teignmouth boasts a grand pier, historic lighthouse, heritage museum, local parks, farmers market, cinema and small theatre. Lots to see and do. From Teignmouth you can walk sections of the South West coastal path, jump on the train to the cathedral city of Exeter, go further south to enjoy the English Riveria or explore Dartmoor National Park which is only 15 miles inland and includes a number of National Trust properties. The open-plan living space is designed for relaxation, with ample seating to enjoy the views. This fantastic sociable space also boasts a Smart TV, SONOS sound system and access to an enclosed glass fronted balcony allowing alfresco breakfast in the morning sun. This is one of the nicest holiday appartments we (2 adults 2 kids) spent our vacation in. It is a modern, spacious penthouse-style place with huge panorama windows. In the morning or evening the combined living and kitchen room turns into a lovely melting light which was gorgious. This is a great apartment, up the hill and with amazing views over the town. The parking was easy and the accommodation totally spotless when we stayed.
