This sweet property is the perfect base to enjoy a relaxing getaway or active break, perfectly positioned for exploring the spectacular Afan Forest Park, popular with walkers and cyclists.

A lovingly refurbished property set on the edge of the Afan Forest Park and within the heart of the waterfall country. This is a great spot to enjoy the best of the Afan Valley with picturesque mountains and forest surrounding the area. Excellent for cyclists, walkers and wildlife lovers. Enjoy scenic walks across the famous viaduct and the start of the Richard Burton Trail or visit the seaside at Aberavon beach just a 6 mile drive away. This property is also well placed for attractions, such as Margam Country Park with acres of countryside and a castle, deer park and visitors centre. It has the added benefit of being within easy reach of the Gower Peninsula and Mumbles both a short drive from the property. Enter the entrance hallway and into the spacious lounge/diner, the real heart of the home. With a dining area to the left to enjoy a home cooked meal together and the lounge area to the right. There is a wood burner, cosy sofas and lots of attention to detail making this the perfect spot to curl up, relax and watch the TV with Sky standard package or read a book after a busy day exploring. Off this room is the spacious kitchen, this light and airy room is the perfect spot to cook up a meal, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The final room to complete the ground floor is a sun room with large writing desk with ample space to store walking boots and coats. Heading upstairs to the first floor from the lounge, you will find the bathroom to the right, a spacious room with bath, separate shower, for you to relax after an active day exploring, and WC. Continue along the landing and you will find the first of the bedrooms, a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request). As you reach the end of the landing you will enter the double bedroom with ample wardrobe space with thoughtful touches throughout, the perfect space for a good night’s rest.

This was a lovely little cottage perfect for my husband and I with Fred our border terrier. Location was so relaxing lovely walk into the Afan Forrest, port Talbot were so easily accessible. Lovely little Richard Burton Trail into port Talbot. If you are wishing to visit the Gower, pick your times as Swansea is quite busy at rush hour. The distanceRead more isnt far but slow roads. Beautiful beaches at Rhossili and Oxwich Bay and enjoyable walks at the mumbles. Will definitely visit again. Hide

A wonderful location,close to many places of interest.Good local dog walkies.Richard Burton was born in this villiage.The actual house he lived in is visable.We were told that his mother and father lived in number 6,before Richard was born.Both are buried in the hillside cemetery above the rental property.Richard married Elizabeth Taylor in the chuRead morerch around the corner from the rental property.Lots of famous history on the door step.
