This traditional cottage sits within the heart of the Tortworth Estate, neighbouring the village church. Beautifully finished and perfect for families and friends to enjoy whatever the occasion.

An excellent location in the Tortworth Estate, overlooking the village church. You will be well served by foot so you can enjoy the waymarked footpaths, or just simply relax with coffee and cake at the estate farm shop, where guests can take advantage of a discount for local produce. For keen anglers, a well-stocked trout lake is available from April to September. The South Cotswolds offers local attractions to include Berkeley Deer Park, Berkeley Castle, Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Westonbirt National Arboretum, Prince Charles’s Highgrove House, Painswick Rococo Garden and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, as well as National Trust properties of Woodchester, Newark Park, Dyrham Park and Tyntesfield. Further afield you can visit the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, Chepstow’s medieval castle and Bath.

Enjoy the views across to the church as you drive through the heart of the estate. The cottage is set within its own grounds overlooking the church. The open stone porch with original stone arch has a church pew for you to take a seat whilst you remove your muddy boots, and is also stacked with wood for the wood burner. Open the solid wooden door into the wide entrance hall, with original wooden panelling and high ceilings, you will find a cosy lounge to the left, where you can sink into the sofas and relax with friends in front of the wood burner, there is also a smart TV/DVD and a bluetooth speaker perfect for a good movie. Across the entrance hall is the dining room, with a solid wooden table and chairs, set for six along with original cupboards. Also, a great space for children to get away and enjoy a board game, or simply relax in the wooden window seats with a good book. The kitchen is set to the rear of the cottage and is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, Dualit capsule coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher, and a table and chairs for a relaxed breakfast and a wooden dresser stocked with everything you may need. There is also a fridge/freezer situated in the lobby just off the kitchen. There is a ground floor WC, with a utility area housing a washer/dryer and small fridge. So, when the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor, where you will find the three bedrooms. A king-size with feature fireplace, a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) with garden views and a twin bedroom (which can be made into a king size on request). All bedrooms are furnished with luxurious organic cotton bedlinen.Also, on this floor is a bathroom with bath and WC and a shower room with shower and WC.

The cottage enjoys an open aspect onto the estate, with a large enclosed garden which is perfect for children and dogs, the grounds are laid to lawn with plenty of sunny garden benches and a patio with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ to enjoy. There is ample off-road parking and secure storage for bicycles available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Church cottage is an amazing place, exceptionally clean, lovely big rooms, very well equipped and an amazing garden. The location is beautiful and the Tortworth Estate farm shop is definitely recommended. We had 4 adults, 2 children and a small dog with us and had plenty of room for everyone. Church Cottage was beautiful and in such a peaceful location. The cottage was very clean and well equipped making for a perfect holiday. A fabulous property lovely quiet location. Church cottage is as described and did not disappoint. Staff and neighbours to the cottage are great and helpful. Nice cottage, well equipped, large rooms, very very quiet. Five minutes walk from the farm shop. Lots of nice drives around the area. The back garden is _large_ and is dog proof. Many walking opportunities right from the door.

Church Cottage is beautiful! The house was spotlessly clean and there was a delicious cake and lovely fresh flowers when we arrived. It's the best equipped self catering accommodation we've stayed in (good quality items too), everything has ben so well though of. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfy. The cottage is an ideal location for visiting the area, but still offers a quiet and peaceful retreat. The dining facilities were very good, offering plenty of crockery and cooking utensils for making meals.

The cottage was lovely, very clean, useful info provided too. Flowers and a cake were there on arrival which was a nice surprise. Church Cottage is set in a very large, dog-proofed garden (as long as your dog isn't too small!), and is almost like the set of a Jane Austen book: a little cottage, with stupendous trees all around it, right next to the most picturesque church and fascinating graveyard.
