Enjoy a slice of life in the picturesque Peak District village of Great Hucklow. Chatsworth is just a short drive away and a must visit with regular events throughout the year. Don’t forget to stop at their famous farm shop and stock up on local goodies. Head just a few miles north to the Hope Valley and explore the popular village of Castleton with its abundance of amenities and wonderful Caverns offering a fascinating insight into local mining history or south to the pretty market town of Bakewell. Enjoy a walk or cycle along the Monsal trail or a spot of pudding tasting. Don’t forget your walking boots or bike. There are plenty of walks right from the doorstep or head to the hills or Edges and enjoy the best of what this National Park has to offer.

Step into the inviting porch of this 18th Century lead miner's cottage, take off your coat and boots and wander through to the charming lounge. With comfortable seating, beautiful wooden floors and traditional fireplace this is the perfect place to relax on the comfy sofas in front of the wood burner with something good on the TV. Head through to the kitchen/diner, with everything you need for a home from home stay. Enjoy cooking on the Aga and relax over a special meal around the farmhouse dining table. The kitchen also offers a combi microwave oven and fridge/freezer. The room is spacious enough for extra comfortable seating, perfect for reading and relaxing. There is a large wall map and range of books on the local area, ideal to help plan your excersions. Just off this space is a separate WC with handy utility area housing a washing machine and dishwasher. Heading upstairs to the first floor of the cottage, offering three charming bedrooms, a king-size with fitted wardrobes and views over the village, a delightful twin with lovely high ceilings and pretty fabrics and a single bedroom. The bathroom is bright and airy and offers a lovely corner bath, great for soaking after a day in the fresh air, a separate shower and WC.

Outside to the rear of the cottage, there is a small enclosed courtyard with table and chairs, perfect for dining alfresco or enjoying some fresh air with your morning coffee. There is a lockable garage for storing bikes, if required. To the front of the cottage is a pretty garden and roadside parking available for one car and further roadside parking in the village, subject to availability.

Really lovely stay at this property, everywhere very easy to get to (Millers Dale for Monsal Trail, Buxton, Bakewell all a short hop in the car. Cottage cosy and comfortable and clean, has heat to Radiators as well as superb log burner (additional logs available at Direct Charcoal LTD on left just before the village of Brough (10 - 12 mins by car).Read more Cottage has good size rooms, all worked a treat, recommended. This was a return visit to North View for our family and the cottage was just as lovely as we had all remembered! It is great place. We enjoyed walks straight from the doorstep but also feel the location is fabulous for exploring further afield. NT Longshaw was new to us and we all loved it there. We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our two daughters who are 2 and 4. The cottage was very nice and well equipped. The host was very helpful. There was a lot of information of things to do which we enjoyed.

A lovely cosy cottage, with lots of character very well equipped with an extremely helpful and welcoming owner. Ideally situated to explore the Dales. We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay of one week.

The cottage is lovely and far more spacious than it looks on the photographs. There are plenty of walks and lovely pubs in the area I can recommend the Blind Bull. Fabulous old cottage, really spacious and tastefully decorated. Had everything we needed to explore the Peak District from, and Jenny was so thoughtful ensuring we were warm enough during a very icy/snowy weekend! Our dogs were made very welcome with some treats and bowls for them, just a shame the local doesnt allow dogs inside! We had a wonderful stay at North View; very comfortable cottage, and helpful communication from Jenny. Really well kitted out for families with small children! And great location for the Nightingale Centre and exploring the area. Highly recommended.

The excellent cottage lies in the heart of the peak district in a small village. Castleton and Buxton are approx 20 minutes away. The cottage is equiped with an AGA, which is always great fun to cook with. The 3 sleeping rooms have excellent beds. We used the garage in the back for storing and servicing the bicycles. North View passed the hook test with flying colours - they were everywhere you needed them! Very thoughtful choices have been made in every room to make this cottage a very comfortable place to stay. The host Jenny communicated well and had left lots of useful info. Our dogs were particularly well catered for.

Cottage was well equipped with comfortable furniture and mattresses, loved the dining area for after dinner chats. The shower was great and easy to use (I usually needed a lesson before using a different shower).

A really nice and comfortable cottage in a quiet location. Jenny was really good on communications both before and during our stay and left us a lovely welcome pack on arrival. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others. Especially anyone with dogs out for a walking holiday.

I found this cottage to be great and would definatly recommend. The place was spacious, beds comfy and the kitchen had all we needed. Great location with many walks from the door and pubs close by too. Owners were very friendly in their communications and left a lovely welcome pack.

Excellent location, fantastic cottage, we would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Within minutes of leaving stepping outside you have numerous walking trails to pick up. The local residents are very friendly and helpful with local information, as is the information pack Within the cottage Enjoy your stay!!
