Warm up by the kitchen Aga and enjoy the property’s original character, exposed beams, stone floors and beautiful fireplaces give a nod to what once was, surrounded by comfy and stylish furniture.

Enjoy a slice of life in the picturesque Peak District village of Great Hucklow. Chatsworth is just a short drive away and a must visit with regular events throughout the year. Don’t forget to stop at their famous farm shop and stock up on local goodies. Head just a few miles north to the Hope Valley and explore the popular village of Castleton with its abundance of amenities and wonderful Caverns offering a fascinating insight into local mining history or south to the pretty market town of Bakewell. Enjoy a walk or cycle along the Monsal trail or a spot of pudding tasting. Don’t forget your walking boots or bike. There are plenty of walks right from the doorstep or head to the hills or Edges and enjoy exactly what this National Park has to offer.

Step into the inviting porch of this 18th Century lead miner's cottage, take off your coat and boots and wander through to the charming lounge. With comfortable seating, beautiful wooden floors and traditional fireplace this is the perfect place to relax on the comfy sofas in front of the wood burner with something good on the TV. Head through to the kitchen/diner, with everything you need for a home from home stay. Enjoy cooking on the Aga and relax over a special meal around the nearby farmhouse dining table. The kitchen also offers a combi microwave oven and fridge/freezer. The room is spacious enough for extra comfortable seating, perfect for reading and relaxing. There is a large wall map and range of books on the local area, ideal to help plan your excersions. Just off this space is a separate WC with handy utility area housing a washing machine and dishwasher. Heading upstairs to the first floor of the cottage, offering three charming bedrooms, a king-size with fitted wardrobes and views over the village, a delightful twin with lovely high ceilings and pretty fabrics and a single bedroom. The bathroom is bright and airy and offers a lovely corner bath, great for soaking after a day in the fresh air, a separate shower and WC.

Outside to the rear of the cottage, through the stable door, there is a small enclosed courtyard with table and chairs, perfect for dining alfresco or enjoying some fresh air with your morning coffee. There is a lockable garage for storing bikes, if required. To the front of the cottage is a pretty garden and roadside parking available for one car and further roadside parking in the village, subject to availability.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was surprisingly spacious, and the Aga made it cosy and welcoming. The owner, Jenny, was generous and very helpful. The decor is all tastefully finished, and the house well equipped. If you didn't want to use the Aga kettle and toaster etc, also provided are the electrical equivalent. We had a wonderful stay at North View Cottage. The owners have furnished it absolutely beautifully and it is perfectly located in the centre of the Peak District. Plenty of room for our family of five, and we really appreciated having the garage safely store bikes and the front porch for muddy boots!

We really enjoyed our week long stay at North View. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished. All the beds are very comfortable and the cottage felt very spacious. The front garden is very pretty and the location of the village is great. We found several nice walks from the village. We stayed for a week at North View (2 adults, 3 children and a dog) and honestly didnt want to leave- we loved it! The cottage is very clean, charming, cosy and really well laid out. We had everything we needed for baking (even though Jenny had left treats for us!) plus anything we could have thought of. We had a lovely stay. The cottage was well appointed and cosy, and Jenny made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend a stay here.
