This thriving market town with a myriad of restaurants, boutique shops and full of architectural gems, is situated on the River Teme and surrounded by the countryside of south Shropshire, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ludlow is busy throughout the year with events and festivals celebrating good food, arts, crafts, theatre, walking and boasts the annual Food and Drink Festival. Keen walkers enjoy the Mary Webb trail, The Shropshire Way and walks in the Mortimer Forest as well as strolls along the river. Take a trip to the historic town of Shrewsbury, visit UNESCO World heritage Site Ironbridge Gorge, Stokesay Castle, Wenlock Priory and Severn Valley Railway. This is an all year-round destination for an active or relaxing holiday.

This stylish lodge, purpose built in 2020, has all your creature comforts and panoramic windows making the most of its waterside location overlooking the pool. Flooded with natural light the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is perfect to relax in and enjoy the view. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher with all the thoughtful little extras to rustle up a meal. If you are bringing your dog there are two stainless steel bowls and a few treats. The utility cupboard houses the washer/dryer and a separate WC by the front door . Enjoy morning coffee at the breakfast bar or a leisurely meal at the dining table, it is the perfect setting for you all to gather round, maybe slide back the doors and listen to the wildlife. After dinner settle down on the comfortable sofa, plan your activities, watch a film on the Smart TV with Netflix or light the wood burner and read a good book. To the left of the living area is the master bedroom with king-size bed, Smart TV, dressing room and en-suite shower room with shower and WC, enjoy a refreshing shower to start the day. To the right of the living area is the twin zip-and-link (which can be super-king-size on request) and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Enjoy a bubble bath or leisurely shower. Both the bedrooms have good quality linen, soft towels and fabulous views over the water to wake up to.

Outside you have a private patio with table, chairs and BBQ overlooking the fishing pool with visiting wildlife, the private enclosed lawn and the lockable store with lighting accessed to the side of the lodge for your bikes or fishing gear. The lodge has a small wooded area to the rear of the lodge, perfect for picnics in the shade. It is set in 20 acres of grounds for you to explore. Fishing is available on site by prior arrangement with the owner, in the five fishing pools. There are also craft workshops available by prior arrangement with the owner in the studio on site. Ample private parking on site.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is probably the best cottage we have been too and we have been to a lot of cottages in our time. Not only the cottage, that had everything you wanted and more, but also the surroundings were beautiful.

The lodge was as described, great peaceful location and fully equipped. Its location was in an area which contained numerous places to visit and these very helpfully had been documented thoroughly in the lodge handbook together with other very useful information. The cottage itself was lovely, everything was new and very clean. The layout was well thought out and all facilities were on hand. The view from the cottage was very nice , overlooking the lakes.

Wow ! What a find ! Beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings. Fully equipped with everything you need for a really comfortable stay. Love the sliding patio doors which showed off the views. My husband caught 3 carp , 14,16 & 19lb ! Went into Ludlow & visited National Trust Berrington Hall. Will miss waking up to those views of the lake. Heron Lodge is 3 miles from Ludlow which gas pubs, shops and restaurants. The Lodge itself is really spotless and well equipped and the owner's couldn't be more friendly and helpful.

A fantastic modern holiday property finished to a high standard. We found it was so well equipped that it was like a home from home. The living area is spacious with sliding doors leading to a lovely terrace overlooking the lake. We stayed at Heron lodge between 14- 21st August. This really is a lovely lodge, great location, so peaceful and quiet with only the noise of birds, fish splashing and occasional Cows can be heard (no pun intended!) The Lodge is so well equipped, with everything you would need, and spotlessly clean. We loved the outside space, shame the weathers waRead moresn't great, but that can't be helped. Ludlow is very nice and we tried the local pub, the Salwey Arms and highly recommend it. Hide

Beautiful new build lodge with high end fixtures and furnishings, facing out onto a small fishing lake at the end of a track. Very private other than one other lodge and the visiting geese! Both bedrooms comfortable with patio doors in each as well as floor to ceiling doors in the lounge, making the most of the lake view.
