Property code: 78092

Welcoming barn conversion set within a friendly village. Ideally placed for day trips to the beach, touring the cathedral cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells or simply relaxing in the courtyard garden

The village of East Harptree nestles on the northern slopes of the Mendips, overlooking the picturesque Chew Valley. The village itself is home to a community shop and a popular pub. Ideally placed for touring, head north and you will find the popular seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare or travel south to the historic city of Wells. The property is also equidistant from Bristol and Bath which both boast a fantastic selection of shops and entertainment. Those wishing to be active will find many walking and cycling routes nearby as well as the Chew Valley Lake, which is a peaceful spot to look out for flora and fauna.

Adjacent to the owners’ home yet with privacy assured, a pathway and two steps lead from the roadside to the main entrance into this detached former barn. To the right of the entrance door is a cosy lounge, with space to relax whilst watching your favourite shows on the TV. The entrance hall also has a useful separate WC and gives access to a bunk room with en-suite shower which is set into the corner of the room. Just next door is the welcoming kitchen/diner, which is well-equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. A staircase in the entrance hall rises to the first floor where you will find a pretty king-size bedroom with original beams. Opposite is an inviting double bedroom. Due to the vaulted ceilings in both bedrooms there are areas of restricted head height. The first-floor bedrooms share the bathroom which has a shower over the bath and WC.

Heading outside from the kitchen/diner or entrance hallway you will find a courtyard garden, which has been screened off from the owners’ space to ensure privacy whilst you enjoy this tranquil space. Why not relax with a drink at the table and chairs or light up the BBQ and prepare a lovely meal. The surrounding main garden is fully enclosed. To the side of the property is an off-road parking space suitable for one vehicle.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A really lovely cottage in a very pretty Somerset village. Within the owners fully enclosed garden. The cottage had everything we needed and we were warmly welcomed by the owners. We would definitely stay again if travelling to the area.

Fiona and Roger were amazing hosts! From the great veggie lasagna to the amazing lavanda cookies that we had when we checked in, to giving us tips of places to visit, and helping us to fix the internet! The house is very pretty and comfy too!
