This converted former stables offers a relaxing getaway in the Kent countryside for both couples and families, with a hot tub and access to the owner's gym.

This stylish Grade II listed stable conversion (once part of the Scotney Castle Estate) is conveniently located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just off the main road on the edge of the pretty Kent village of Lamberhurst (only a two minute drive away) with its village general store and various pubs. Those looking to soak up the local culture can enjoy Scotney Castle (which is less than a mile's drive away) and Bayham Abbey (about 4.5 miles away) or a stroll around Lamberhurst Vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in Kent. Families will love all that nearby Bewl Water (just under two miles away) has to offer with water sports, fishing, lake cruises, cycle trails or just a simple stroll around the beautiful lake, and Bedgebury Pinetum (just under four miles away) is also a great place for children to explore.

Enter the stable through the front door, which opens into the warm and cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a double-fronted wood burner (also facing into the master bedroom), comfy corner sofa, a Smart TV and a record player with a large collection of records for whiling away an evening listening to some old school albums. Along with a modern blue-tooth speaker, there is also a DVD player with a selection of dvds, books, magazines and a varied assortment of board and card games.  There is a table suitable for four people to dine at and the well-equipped kitchen area has all the equipment you would expect, including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, and a large fridge/freezer. A welcome hamper awaits guests. The master bedroom leads off from the lounge and has a double bed, Smart TV, plenty of wardrobe space and the added luxury of  the cosy wood burner. The second bedroom has twin beds, and a Smart TV, dressing table and plenty of wardrobe space.  The property is completed with a large, contemporary family bathroom incorporating a full-size bath, separate walk-in shower, twin basins and WC, and an integrated washing machine.

There is a fully enclosed south-facing patio/garden area with an outdoor dining table and chairs with four luxury sun loungers, a BBQ and a hot tub. There is private parking for two cars and by arrangement, there is also access to the owner's gym incorporating a running machine, resistance bike, high quality multi-station gym, a selection of free weights, large TV and sound system.

The cottage was lovely and ideally located near Bewl water so a good location. Upon arriving owners Julia and Gavin were very friendly and helpful and showed us everything we needed and helpful throughout. We also had a lovely welcome hamper which included a bottle of prosecco which was a nice touch. The fire place and dcor was very homely and the Read morehot tub outside was perfect. Everything was lovely and thoughtful down to the small details. Had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend staying! Hide

The barn was absolutely amazing, both beautiful and comfortable. Very romantic. Cant fault the stay at all. Gavin and Julia are lovely people and helped us with everything We needed. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Will definitely return in the future. If your looking for a romantic peaceful getaway look no further.
