Idyllic rural setting with walks on your doorstep, the cottage is lovingly fitted and furnished in a contemporary country style with a hot tub making this perfect for family getaways

Located in the heart of Polyphant, this property is situated in a tranquil location surrounded by countryside. The closest towns with all the amenities one could ask for is Launceston and it’s historic castle or venture further afield where the stunning beaches of both the north and south coast are within easy reach. Nearby attractions include Tintagel Castle and the rugged north Cornwall coastline along the south west coastal path. The Adrenalin Quarry, Eden Project, Siblyback Segway adventure, the hidden valley and for the cyclists, Cardinham woods are all within easy reach. Slightly further afield are the roman cathedral city of Exeter and maritime city of Plymouth. Although it is steeped in its rural past, it is also equipped with many modern comforts throughout.

From the terrace you enter through the front door into the porch then into the wonderful country kitchen with beams and decorative Rayburn. The beautiful kitchen has everything you need and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, freezer and dishwasher so create a family meal whilst family gather around the breakfast bar. An opening leads to the dining room with plenty of light and country table with seating for six. The utility room has washing machine and tumble dryer then leads to a shower room with shower and WC. A door leads to the superb sitting room with plenty of seating for all and Smart TV so cosy up in front of the wood burner and watch your favourite films. Heading up the stairs the character continues with vaulted ceilings and seating to read a book and unwind. The bedrooms are all themed, “The Hive” is a king zip-and-link (which can be made into a 2ft 6 twin on request), “The Pen” a double bedroom and “The Warren” a single bedroom, all with ample storage and views onto the gorgeous garden. The bathroom has a small free-standing roll top bath with hand held shower attachment and WC.

Outside there are spacious terraces and seating areas in this loved cottage garden which is furnished with a seating bench, table and chairs so you can dine alfresco. The private garden is perfect for relaxing in and is fully enclosed so ideal for dogs. There are several borders with shrubs and of course a hot tub to lay back and unwind after a day exploring the walks from your doorstep. A parking space is on the gravelled driveway and there is further roadside parking, subject to availability.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Fantastic welcome and a very thorough check in. The cottage is just stunning. The small details are lovely and the interior design of the place is faultless. We spent the day exploring then looked forward to lighting the fire, glass of wine and dinner. Very spacious property and well laid out. As we were there in December the Christmas tree was up Read moreand the outside lights looked magical from the hot tub. (Which was great!) We felt relaxed and refreshed in our return home. We had a brilliant stay in Penny Bun cottage, it was stunning and the jewel in the crown was the hot tub which we used every day, after a busy day out exploring to come back and relax in it was heaven. Penny bun cottage was amazing. From arriving and being greeted by the owners to show us around we felt just at home. We was two couples and 3 dogs. The cottage was very dog friendly with dog towels, poo bags and treats. On arrival the owners had a bottle of bubbly and scones ready for us which was a great touch. Sandie and Charlie were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome into the cottage. Penny Bun was a beautiful place to relax after a long day exploring Cornwall and was also great for the day where we just needed a day in. Its in a great location to get places and we will all be coming back soon.

The cottages are scrupulously clean yet warmly inviting. However the best thing is the attitude of the owners, just so friendly and accommodating. We were greeted personally by Sandie & Charlie, fresh flowers and a delicious cream tea. That kind of service is rare and deserves commendation and gratitude. Highly recommended. We had a wonderful week at the cottage, it is a real home from home. The hosts, Sandie and Charlie were fabulous, and live close by. I would highly recommend Penny Bun Cottage - you will not be disappointed. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, extremely well equipped and in a great location. Sandie and Charlie are wonderful hosts and cant do enough for you. We especially liked the bubbly and cream team on arrival - a very thoughtful touch. We will be returning without a doubt!

This cottage is perfectly located for a nice little get away with the family and dog. It is just off the A30 which allowed you to visit any part of Cornwall with a journey no longer than 1 hour 30 mins. The privacy was great and we used the hot tub everyday to relax and read a book.
