A warm, welcoming property in a super location near England’s largest forest and stunning lake. Perfect for families, friends and outdoors lovers.

Stay at this cheerful and hospitable property with space for up to seven friends or family and you will find plenty of thoughtful touches from the owner to help make your stay truly comfortable. The amazing Kielder Water and Forest are on your doorstep and so you will be able to explore, go for walks in the peaceful forest, enjoy all types of bike rides and try your hand at a variety of water sports and other activities. This is an official International Dark Sky Park and so a night-time visit to the Kielder Observatory to gaze at the Milky Way is a must! You can visit Bellingham, the gateway town to Kielder where you can sample the delights of the pubs, shops and café, pop into pretty Falstone village or head out to historic Ottherburn. Back ‘home’, you can walk to the village pub for a drink and a meal or enjoy a coffee in Kielder Castle's cafe on the edge of the village.

Access is at front of house into the hallway with a useful shoe cupboard and a telephone console with a landline telephone for incoming calls. Follow the hallway to the kitchen/diner where you have everything you need and more to cook some great meals in together, including an induction hob, an eye-level double electric oven with a separate grill, fridge freezer and a slow cooker so you can prepare a nice dinner for when you get back from your days out exploring. There is also a microwave, coffee machine and a cafetiere. You will find some handy USB charging points for your devices too. The large dining table has seating for seven in front of a feature wood burner fireplace, a lovely setting for food and conversation. Leading from the kitchen is the utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a collection of picnic ware to use outside and the glazed door leads you into rear garden and patio areas. Next to the utility room, there is a shower room with a shower cubicle and WC. Moving back down the hallway, you come to the lounge with dual aspect windows and views of the rear garden and stunning forest beyond. There are two large comfortable sofas and two easy chairs to settle back into while you catch up with your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Upstairs you will find the three bedrooms; each with a hair dryer and dressing gowns for your use during your stay. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with a wardrobe and chest of drawers, a Smart TV and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, jacuzzi bath and WC. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed with plenty of storage for your things and a TV. The third 'family' bedroom can sleep three in a small double bed with single bunk bed over, plus there is a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. The modern family bathroom features a 'P' shaped bath with shower over and WC.

Outside the generous garden offers a variety of areas to sit back and relax. There are sun loungers and a patio table and chairs where you can extend your day and enjoy a drink, or an al fresco meal cooked on the BBQ. Bring your bikes as there is secure cycle storage in the garden too (or you can rent bikes in the park). There is parking for one car opposite the house plus free, additional parking in the school car park or along the quiet road leading towards the village castle and pub.

Beautiful location and the house had everything you could need. It is very remote and is a good drive to a supermarket, we were told this by the owner prior to our visit so we arranged for an online shop to be delivered on arrival. We had a lovely welcome from Sharron which included scones, wine and flowers. We found The Cheviot at Bellingham the nRead moreicest dog friendly pub in the area which served lovely food at a reasonable price. Hide

The cottage in Kiedler exceeded our expectations and we loved our stay. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful with any questions. The house is spacious, well equipped with great quality mattresses/linen and the most peaceful nights of sleep in an area of dark skies. Great garden area which was ideal for kids to play. There were a fRead moreew midges but nothing extreme so not a problem for us. Would definitely recommend. Hide

Excellent location for the Kielder forest walks and mountain bike trails. For other amenities it is limited and remote , for example, supermarkets however you are told that before you go. A well equipped house which would suit families and couples alike. A friendly and welcoming owner who made our stay a pleasure including pre arrival contact.

Well located for Kielder village and the forest walks and cycle tracks round Kielder Water. Spacious, clean and up to date. Lovely rising terrace enclosed rear garden. Facilities and equipment excellent. Attention to detail very impressive. Sharron Mather very helpful. Beware no mobile coverage but local wifi good in the house.
