This delightful semi-detached property forms part of a non-working farm set amongst 16 acres of private pastureland and woods and provides a perfect base for couples wishing to relax and unwind.

Conveniently located a short drive from the attractive village of Sheepwash and on the London to Lands End cycle trail, this is a great location from which to explore. Walkers and cyclists will also be in their element with the Tarka Trail nearby and stunning Dartmoor National Park is just a short drive away. Alternatively, head towards the coast and enjoy the spectacular beaches and picturesque fishing villages the area is famed for including Westward Ho!, Hartland and Clovelly. There are also many traditional market towns and villages to explore in the surrounding area such as Bideford, where you can jump on the Oldenburg and take a day trip to Lundy Island. Other local attractions include RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal.

Stepping into the pretty converted barn, you will immediately find yourself in a fabulously light and airy studio style lounge/kitchen/dining/sleeping area with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and French doors to outside. The kitchen area is equipped with all the basic necessities including an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge, and here you can sit down and enjoy a home cooked meal after a day exploring. The rest of the room comprises the sleeping area with a double bed and TV/DVD. The final room inside the property is a beautifully presented shower room with shower and WC, which is located by the front door.

Outside of the property and accessed via the French doors from the lounge area, there is lovely little enclosed garden and this comprises a patio, garden furniture and BBQ, and steps leading to a small area of lawn.  Private eco wood fired hot tub with countryside views. Further to this there is access to woodland walks and a play paddock, ideal for ball games or exercising dogs. The property also benefits from access to a shared utility room with washing machine, freezer and useful storage space for bikes, surfboards and golf clubs etc. Private off-road parking for one car is provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect in every way! Cottage is extremely well equipped, a lovely location (within 45 mins of Dartmoor and Westward Ho!). Julie and Chris were so accommodating.

A superb stay in a beautiful location. Brilliant hosts only next door who were there from the moment we pulled in. We were greeted with clotted creams and scones and they had heated the eco fire hot tub up for us ( we travelled from Staffordshire). Local villages were delightful, with great road links to various beautiful coastal walks. We visited Read moreIlfracombe, Westward Ho and Clovelly fishing harbour to name a few. Julie and her husband Chris are such lovely people. Their property is well thought out, designed and decorated to a very high standard. The property was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and they had thought of everything. I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to visit Devon.

Had a really lovely time at the Stable last week. It's very nicely decorated and the location is beautiful. Lots to do nearby, recommend Lizzy's larder for a nice breakfast and to see some animals. We will definetly be staying here again! As expected some of the roads surrounding can be quite uneven/bumpy so just be careful if you have a lowered caRead morer. Hide

My Husband, our little Pug and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Hembury Gate Farm. The accommodation, was great, functional, clean and decorated beautifully. The stable cottage that we selected had fantastic outside facilities, with a enclosed garden space which was fantastic for the dog. Very welcoming and a great relaxed getaway. Brilliant weekend away, would recommend to anyone, was our best time away from home. Hot tub was a definite highlight with a nice bit of living space inside, very comfortable. Julie was very welcoming and even helped book our dinner for our first nights stay.
