Take a stroll into the pretty market town of Chagford where you will find a choice of village pubs alongside a good selection of independent local shops. Venture just slightly further and you will find a magnificent array of walks and cycle trails through Dartmoor National Park, famed for its stunning scenery and wildlife. Foodies will also be in their element with exclusive dining on offer nearby. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include the picture-postcard South Hams (26 miles), the cathedral city of Exeter (23 miles), home to a wide range of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, the historic naval city of Plymouth (30 miles), and numerous National Trust properties including Castle Drogo (4 miles).

After travelling through pretty Devon countryside and narrow lanes, step inside this stunning property and venture up the stairs onto the first floor where you will discover the beautifully light open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This impressive room has been lovingly styled and boasts a vaulted ceiling, TV/DVD, wood burner and doors opening onto the balustrade. This is the perfect place to watch a film or enjoy a good book after a day exploring the moors, and the inclusion of a relaxed dining area makes this a brilliantly sociable space for all ages. The contemporary country kitchen space is well-equipped to rustle up some delicious food to enjoy together. The first of which is a sumptuous super-king-size bedroom with a door to the outside seating area, as well as a TV/DVD and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is a double with an en-suite shower room, and to complete the accommodation you will find a convenient WC on the ground floor.

Located outside, at the front of the property, you will discover a private enclosed courtyard garden with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ – the perfect place to dine alfresco in warm weather, with a couple of lounger chairs to ease into.

So much was wonderful about the property, so would recommend it! Minor snags... only one small shower for the two rooms (technically 2nd shower head over bath) and no cooker/hob to cook with, as Aga turned off (weather was so hot)! I had initial concern re narrow lanes sratching my car... which was true for one of the lanes, however we found one laRead morene that was great to drive down - travel straight ahead from property at first minor junction bear left. Great venue, would go again :-) Hide

We really enjoyed our stay in Great Weeke, the little "extras" made the cottage a home from home. Very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Superb location for our walking tour of Dartmoor.

We were lucky with the weather and the village offered every amenity. Nattadon Common is well worth a walk.
