An elevated location with views across the rolling countryside. Single storey and open plan, finished with local artwork and reclaimed treasures, and perfect no matter what the time of year.

Enjoying a private setting within the grounds of a small holding, you are free to roam the meadows, or venture further afield. A network of well waymarked footpaths are ideal for walkers, while winding country lanes enable cyclists to discover neighbouring villages and hamlets. Nearby the vibrant market town of Leominster renowned for its local antique and curiosity shops, the ideal location for a relaxing browse, and a short drive leads you to the beautiful cathedral city of Hereford. Just over the border into Shropshire is the market town of Ludlow with its medieval castle, a food-enthusiast’s paradise due to its bustling farmers’ market and food-centre bursting with local produce. There are many National Trust gardens that are open seasonally within easy reach including Berrington hall and Brockhampton Estate and Croft Castle. Slightly further afield you can reach The Elan Valley with its visitors centre, Offa’s Dyke, and The Black Mountains. The world-famous literary town of Hay-on-wye is also easily accessible. Within a one minute drive, less than 0.5 miles there is The Grove, which houses a ten pin bowling alley, adventure golf, driving range and 2 x 9 hole golf courses and a restaurant.

Set within the owner's grounds and surrounded by rich pastures and meadows, you’ll start to unwind as you travel up the driveway. This single storey wooden lodge enjoys panoramic countryside views. Shallow wooden steps that lead to the front door and into the entrance porch, a place where you can leave the day behind with room for coats and boots. A spacious hallway leads into the open plan living space where you will be greeted by the vaulted ceiling and picture windows which frame the beautiful surrounding countryside. This room has an eclectic style and has been finished with local artwork and reclaimed treasures from times gone by. The cleverly divided space offers a lounge area where you can relax in front of the wood burner and enjoy catching up with friends, as well as space for dining where you can gather around the reclaimed table. The kitchen area has a contemporary finish, complemented with open galvanised rack stocked with vintage china. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. When the day is done you will find two bedrooms, a king-size bedroom with views onto the countryside and a twin zip-and- link (that can be made into a super-king by request when booking). There is a spacious bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside there is an enclosed garden including BBQ and a patio with table and chairs, and you are also free to wander the enclosed meadows within the grounds where you can meet the local farm life. In the evening, you can take a glass of wine up to the elevated platform and watch the sun go down with panoramic views across the Welsh hills. There is off-road parking for two cars and a lockable shed for bike storage.

Lovely holiday cottage in a nice location, with friendly owners offering a warm welcome on arrival. Great to have a beautiful lemon drizzle cake and a bottle of bubbly left for us too.

Buzzards Call is a beautiful cottage situated in an ideal location for exploring the Hereford area. Jewels and Mark are wonderful hosts, so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. A beautiful, relaxing and extremely comfortable home from home. A real bonus for us was the secure exercise area for our dogs! Will definitely be returning! :)

We all loved Buzzards Call, humans and dogs. Everything you needed was there as well as very thoughtful touches like fresh flowers from the garden, a delicious homemade cake on arrival and items for the dogs in case we'd forgotten anything. Very comfortable property, plenty of space and well equipped. Excellent for anyone wanting to take their dogs. We have two GSD and the property worked extremely well for us. The additional dog play area was amazing to have a real +++. A trip to Ludlow is highly recommended along with the local national trust properties. We highly recommend Buzzards Call after spending a week enjoying our stay there and exploring the beautiful local area. Hosts Jewels and Mark were very friendly and caring with a great knowledge of the area. The accommodation was beautiful, very well maintained and had everything you needed for a self catering holiday, like a home from home. Lovely location country feel and relaxing with surrounding fields. Especially good as secure dog walking field. Nice views from cottage and handy for visits to beautiful National Trust properties and small towns of Hereford, Ludlow and Leominster. The owners were very welcoming and able to guide you to local attractions if needed.

Had a great stay here. Location wise it's well placed. The accommodation is well done throughout, and well maintained. The open plan area was ideal for relaxing cooking etc with great views. The lodge is beautifully central to the south west and midlands, Wales is a stones throw, as is the Cotswolds, major cities like Hereford and Worcester. It's beautiful! We loved it!!

Buzzards Call was really a home from home. We settled down very well including our dog Katie. It had plenty of everything we needed. It was spotless. Nothing was stinted. The beds were very comfy as well. The decoration was very light and airy. Buzzards Call also came with a small garden to sit in and take in the scenery. We would come again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this stylish home from home. Our young children loved going to visit the goats in the field in front of the owners home and to keep an eye on the chickens and sheep! It was wonderful to be surrounded by the beautiful countryside, with stunning sunsets every night. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable.

A beautifully situated cottage with friendly hosts Jewel and Mark who tolerated Biggles our labradoodle barking at each new sound. We could take Biggles out for his morning's business in the enclosed garden. For dog-walkers I'd recommend Queens Wood 3 miles towards Hereford. Parking charges are moderate. Buzzard's Call gave us a great base to explore Herefordshire and beyond. The place was very clean and comfy, everything we needed was there. 10/10. Just WOW. Myself, wife and daughters loved our stay at buzzards call and well definitely be back. The hosts were lovely and their place is beautiful inside and out. The area was perfect for getting out and about (one week wasnt enough to fit everything in). A perfect cottage located in an ideal location for exploring local castles, mansions and nearby towns of Ludlow, Leominster and Hay-on-Wye a little further away. A long weekend in a great place with a nice outlook, and great weather for March. It was well equipped and had really comfy beds. Owners helpful and on hand if needed. Good location for looking around the area. We've already booked a return trip for a week later in the year.

I've visited this Lodge a few times now and in a nutshell you simply have everything you need for a relaxing holiday, the lodge is spotless, the views are AMAZING. The beds are SUPER comfortable, but more importantly the hosts are great people, I will go back again.
