Also nearby is Appleby and Kirby Stephen offering historic buildings, castle, shops, cafe’s, pubs and restaurants.

Enter this traditional Cumbria cottage and you will instantly see the renewed life the owners have given to bring it back to its glory. Firstly, on the left is a snug area with Smart TV and sofa, ideal for a movie night in. On the right is the lounge/diner with a large comfy chair and sofa in front of the wood burner effect electric fire to create a cosy atmosphere, a wall mounted Smart TV and the dining table which seats six. Heading through is a separate WC then onto the kitchen which has been tastefully renovated but still has the feel of a classic country kitchen. Here you will find everything you need to create a feast with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. comfortable cottage with plenty of room for 4 adults and a child (and two dogs!). Sloping floors took a little getting used to but added to the charm of the cottage. Just off a busy road but not too far from Penrith. Lots of kitchen equipment if you needed to cook. Was too cold to sit in garden but the view out was lovely. Cottage is lovely, really low ceilings and un level floors. Full of character and really cosy. With a small enclosed back garden overlooking fields for the dogs to go out in.

My daughter, dog and I used the cottage as a base to explore the lakes. Location meant it was easy to find but there was a lot of traffic to and from the cement works. Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable. Only downside was there were no local restaurants or pubs, needed to drive to Appleby for nearest shops. ( there was a small post office/ convenience store within walking distance but this closed at 5.30. Wildflower Cottage is lovely with lots of original features and a cute garden with lovely views to the fields behind, sheep grazing and the pennines in the distance. It has everything you need and was nice and warm. Area is lovely but heavy traffic from the Gypsum factory. Great base for exploring lakes, Eden Valley and pennines.

Lovely cottage, very comfy with everything you need. Seperate snug ideal for kids watching tv etc. Great selection of streaming on TV. Nothing to do in local village but close enough to Penrith, Ullswater etc. Beds comfy, well equipped kitchen. Felt homely.

Cottage was terrific. Decent base for exploring area. Bistro is only a few yards away but was closed as is being sold (2023). This was a real shame. Would recommend the cottage, it was excellent.

Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely country cottage. There was so much to see and do - we visited the Yorkshire Dales, which were beautiful as well as parts of The Lake District. We found the cottage really comfortable and having a tv in both downstairs rooms kept the kids very happy ( and us too ! ).
