Located on a laid-back working farm with 20 acres of meadow and woodland on your doorstep. Walk along ‘Devil’s Water’, a tributary of the River Tyne at the foot of the meadow for lovely scenery. The owners offer cookery and gardening courses in the adjacent dairy barn and you can arrange a local chef to cook for a special occasion. Visit nearby shops, pubs, restaurants in the bustling market town of Hexham and the quaint village of Corbridge offers charming shops and restaurants. The Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines AONB are both nearby and you can explore the Roman ruins at Housesteads Roman Fort, Vindolanda and Hadrian’s Wall.

Enter the property by the front door into the hallway. The stylish bedrooms are on the ground floor with feature stone walls, polished concrete floors and underfloor heating. The first has a king-size bed and window seats offering views out onto the farm’s lovely garden and an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The second bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Head upstairs to the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Exposed beams and feature stonework remind you of the property’s working past and the room is flooded with light from various windows and clever lighting. High ceilings and exposed beams add to the sense of space and light, while the cosy wood burner allows you to snuggle up together on the comfortable sofas after a day out and about to catch up with your favourite shows on Smart TV. Enjoy sitting at the dining table for sociable meals and you can chat with the cook over a glass of wine from the breakfast bar. The contemporary, well-equipped kitchen has everything you will need with an electric oven and induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Outside, there is a delightful patio garden with a BBQ and a dining table for fun, al-fresco dining. Parking is off-road and for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Relaxing week in this lovely cottage which has been renovated to a high standard. Great location, nice walks from the cottage and also close to Hexham, Corbridge, visitor attractions and walks etc. Hosts very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely return.

Duck House really is as good as it looks in the photographs. The renovations have been done to a very high standard and it shows. The little touches that the hosts provided were an unexpected bonus that we really appreciated. The hosts are great and made us feel very welcome. We were encouraged to feed their animals which our daughter loved and to Read morewalk around their lovely paddock, a fantastic setting in a great location for exploring Northumbria. When we were met at the car door by the owner with umbrellas to protect us from the rain we knew we were onto a winner. Then she mentioned there was wine in the fridge and we knew we were onto a winner! Beautiful accommodation, beautiful setting, great hosts. The children loved feeding the friendly animals. We'll be back!

Duck Cottage at Linnels Farm was exactly as described and photographed on the website. We had a wonderful time in fabulous accommodation. The location is amazing with beautiful views around the farm with a fabulous walk down by the river. The owners have made a fantastic job of renovating the farm and it was lovely to see the animals.
