This lovely pub is located in the heart of the Kent countryside and retains its original bar for guests to enjoy. It is beautifully decorated throughout and offers a boutique style holiday home full vivid colour, fascinating furniture and antique finds,

Located at Cowden Pound, near the charming Kent village of Cowden, This beautiful property is a precious example of a small, wayside country Pub. This Grade II listed Victorian building is within the surrounding High Weald AONB making it a haven for walkers and cyclists. Just a short drive away is the famous Hever Castle and gardens, the former home of Anne Boleyn. Other historic attractions within easy reach are Churchill’s home at Chartwell and Penshurst Place and gardens. Beyond the village, the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is well worth a visit with its selection of independent shops and cafes nestled in the Pantiles area, while the nearby vineyards make for a great day out. The sights of London can be reached by train from Cowden in under an hour. Keen walkers and cyclists can explore the multitude of local footpaths and bridleways. Ashdown Forest, made famous by AA Milne and Pooh Bear, offers wide open spaces and the opportunity to play Pooh Sticks at Pooh Bridge. For those looking for excitement, Lingfield Racecourse is close by. For daily supplies, a local farm shop is a short walk away whilst Edenbridge town, on the line of the Roman road to London offers a range of amenities including a Waitrose and a Leisure Centre.

Step into the property through the main front door and into the atmosphere of an original Victorian pub. To your left is the Saloon Bar which has been turned into a cosy lounge with comfy sofas and armchairs, a wood burner for those chilly evenings, and a Smart TV and board games. The original bar is a great place for shaking up a cocktail or enjoying a game of shove ha’penny. The dining room, with its original décor, is the perfect place for family meals having a large dining table with seating for all. The kitchen, harking back to a bygone age, is compact yet stylish. Here you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven, DAB radio and recipe books for culinary inspiration. During the winter months, an oil- fired Rayburn will provide additional warmth and cooking facilities. The ground floor is completed with your very own private bar – the Public Bar. The bar is original and un- restored. It features in the list of CAMRA’s pubs with interiors of national importance. By arrangement with the owners you can purchase a barrel of local beer so you can enjoy pulling your own pint from the handpumps. The family can enjoy a few games of darts or Hoopla. Upstairs there are three charming bedrooms: a large king-size room with sofa-bed, a double and a twin, all of which share an incredibly spacious bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower and WC.

Outside there is a fully enclosed garden where you can relax with the family or enjoy a charcoal BBQ. Plenty of garden seating is provided. There is ample parking.
