Buxton is a festival town and the cottage’s central location puts you at the heart of its summer carnivals and many musical and theatrical events. Situated within very easy walking distance of all the Buxton International Festival and Fringe venues, it is just 15 minutes’ walk from Buxton Opera House. Buxton is surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and lies less than a mile from the Peak National Park. The more adventurous can enjoy cycling, rock climbing and gliding. Visit Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, all of which have starred in the BBC period dramas and historical films. And if ever you do get a yearning for the big city, there’s always Manchester, just an hour away on the train.

Step into this charming cottage which combines traditional character with contemporary design and provides all the facilities you need for a restful stay. Into the entrance hallway where there is space for hanging coats and room for shoes or walking boots. Here you see the first of the local artworks which are hung throughout the house. Head through to the comfortable open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and in the lounge area relax in front of the wood burner effect electric fire and watch your favourite programme on the TV/DVD, or listen to some music on the Bluetooth speaker, radio and CD player provided. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer and microwave. The washer/dryer is tucked away under the stairs in the utility area. There is plenty of space to dine for those evenings you wish to stay at home. The ground floor bathroom has a shower over bath,WC and heated limestone floor. Heading up to the first floor, there are two bright and airy bedrooms one double and one twin. The generous dressing table in the twin room doubles as a desk for those seeking a peaceful retreat for working away from home.

The cottage has private off-street parking for one car and a secure bike store for up to four cycles if you wish to bring your own bikes, with a charging point for electric bikes.

Lovely and cosy for a cold weekend, parking and central location was so convenient. Very quiet, clean and comfortable, the hosts who lived nearby made sure we knew they were available, if we had any problems or needed advice on the local area.

This is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage. A great selection of local produce was provided on arrival as well as fresh flowers in the main bedroom. These were much appreciated. The location in a quite side street is excellent - very close to the shops but also very peaceful and it's a great base for walking or exploring the area by car. We had a very comfortable stay in a well equipped cottage. Natural light, well aired and full marks for cleanliness. It was a very easy stroll into Lower Buxton with access to Pavilion Gardens, Tourist Information, historic parts of the town and main shoppping precinct. Cosy cottage close to all amenities and easy to travel from to other locations. As stated parking and road is quite tight if you have a larger car. Myself my partner and my 15 year old son had a lovely few days here. Thank you.

The cottage was exactly as described. It was very well presented, clean, well equipped and warm. The location was quiet, yet right in town, minutes away from historic Buxton, cafs, restaurants, shops and pubs.

We had a fabulous stay in the cosy No. 5. The location is close to all amenities and parking is a welcome bonus as were the lovely locally sourced welcome treats. The beds are comfortable, the shower was great and the art around the house is very tasteful, local and interesting. We would definitely stay again!

Great cottage, lovely and cosy. Everything that you need is close by. Parking is tight but I got my Mazda CX5 in ok. Plenty of nice pubs and places to eat.

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location. Hosts were friendly and welcoming, leaving a tasty welcome hamper and handpicked flowers to greet us with. Luckily we took our smaller car as the car parking space is very tight. Guests perhaps need to be made more aware of this as the alternative parking is a little further away! We had a wonderful week staying in this cute and cosy cottage. Everything was lovely from the start, the welcome pack with local produce was a nice gesture, the house was very well presented and we all had great night sleeps after busy days out exploring. Wonderful location, central to everywhere we wanted to walk in the Peak District. Would definitely stay here again.
