This beautiful Grade II listed country retreat is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to escape to the country and celebrate any occasion in glorious surroundings

This magnificent property was once an old hunting lodge, situated in the heart of a working arable farm, ideal for keen walkers as the Staffordshire Way footpath crosses the farm. Close to the village of Abbots Bromley, with pubs, Indian restaurant, café and a village shop. Just a short drive away is the Market town of Uttoxeter with shops, pubs, a weekly market, golf course and Uttoxeter Racecourse. Shugborough Estate is only a short drive, part of the National Trust with lots to explore. Visit the Potteries, a must-visit destination for lovers of pottery with factory tours, visitor centres, museums and shops. Slightly further afield and for the young at heart, take a day out at Drayton Manor Theme Park or Alton Towers.

On arriving, step through the front door into the large panelled entrance hall, from here you will find the spacious drawing room with comfortable seating to relax on in front of the TV and the inviting open fire. The formal dining room is set for all to sit and enjoy an evening meal with family and friends whilst planning the next days adventures. The large farmhouse kitchen with breakfast table and chairs is fully equipped for the chef of the household to cook up a storm, including an electric Range oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and two dishwashers, so no washing up afterwards. A passageway links to the lounge with sofas (including one sofa bed) arranged around the TV and wood burner. There is also a second kitchen/diner at the back of the house with table and chairs and equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher. In addition there is a utility room housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and a separate WC. There is a ground floor bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC, along with a boot room, the perfect place to leave those walking boots and wash off any muddy paws. Heading up to the first floor you will find the eight bedrooms, some with beamed ceilings and views out over open countryside. There are three super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into twins on request), one of these has an en-suite shower and WC and another has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. There is a single bedroom and four king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into 2ft 6 twins on request) bedrooms, two of these have an en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC and one of them has an en-suite shower and WC. Completing the first floor is a shower room with shower and WC.

Head outside to the large lawned garden and terrace which is perfect for children and dogs to run off some energy while the adults relax on the garden furniture and admire the views. There is storage for bikes and ample private parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a fabulous Christmas at park lodge, the property is stunning and very grand. The property was very warm & cosy- we loved the log fires. There was plenty of space for us to get together but also be able to do our own thing. The property is located in the middle of nowhere so you cant walk to a shop or a pub, but we didnt mind this. The only iRead moressue we had was that the WiFi did not work! And a few minor other issues. However overall we had a wonderful stay & a wonderful Christmas! Hide

We had a wonderful pre-Christmas Christmas at park lodge. 3 families coming together for a 3 night stay. The house is truly beautiful and is set in a wonderfully secluded spot with uninterrupted views over the countryside. Its also huge and it took us a while to stop taking wrong turns. The house was well appointed with everything we needed during Read moreour stay (including logs for the open fire) and the owner even stopped by to bring us some beer from the local brewery.
