Located in a peaceful hamlet just outside Craster village with a friendly pub nearby which also serves meals. This is a lovely area to walk, cycle, stroll on the beach and play golf. Walk to the beach less than a mile away in Craster and admire the pretty harbour. You can sample Craster Kippers which are the local delicacy and take the scenic coastal path from here to see the 14th-century Dunstanburgh Castle. The beach walk from Craster to Low Newton along Embleton Sands is simply wonderful. You can then reward yourselves at the great beach pub, the Ship Inn, at Low Newton which has its own micro-brewery. Beautiful Howick Hall Gardens, ancestral home of Earl Grey, is less than three miles from the cottage with lovely tea rooms. Alnwick Castle with its amazing Gardens are seven miles inland.

Access from the front door directly into the warm and cosy sunroom where you can leave your boots and coats. There is a comfortable sofa and chair; making this an ideal space for peaceful reading or enjoying a morning coffee. Head into the country-style kitchen with a long table for sociable dining and everything you will need to prepare your meals, including an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. The kitchen also houses the washing machine. Walk through to the light and airy lounge with comfortable seating and views of the rear garden. Here you can relax in front of the warming wood burner and watch a movie on the Smart TV/DVD or listen to music on the Bluetooth speaker which you can connect to your phone or tablet. There is even a PlayStation 3 to keep you amused. Completing the ground floor there is a separate WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor; there is a double bedroom overlooking the rear garden with its original feature fireplace. The cosy twin bedroom also has an original feature fireplace, plenty of storage and a dressing table. The bathroom is on this floor too with bath, separate shower and WC. The second floor is reached via a rather steep and narrow staircase which turns and leads directly into the spacious master king-size bedroom with a beautiful stone feature wall and four skylights allowing the light to flood in. There are lovely views of the coast from this elevated room.

Outside, there is a gravelled patio area to the side of the property with garden seating and a table set for al-fresco dining. Seating and a Barbeque are available in the adjacent shed. Vegetables grow in the raised beds surrounding this area. The back door in the hallway leads out to a small patio garden with table and chairs and there is a small lawned area to the far side of the property. Parking is off-road for two cars.

Although this cottage is described as dog friendly, the gardens are far from being enclosed! There is a farm gate in one and with railings and a low wall in another, my terrier could have easily made a getaway after the local rabbits!! An overall excellent family holiday. The cottage was great and bigger than expected. There was plenty of room for two adults, two grown-up teenagers and a dog. Very clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. The location is brilliant. An easy walk (10 minutes through the field) into Craster. Our second stay at Old Anchor Cottage. It is a lovely well equipped, cosy cottage in Dunstan. Within easy walking distance to Craster and perfect position for walking the fabulous Northumberland coast.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage, we had a lovely stay here. Its about a 15 minute walk into Craster itself but a short walk to the nearby pub and is a good location for visiting the rest of the Northumberland coast.

Lovely cottage located on the outskirts of Craster. 20 minute walk to the sea in Craster or about 35mins to Embleton. Terrific location, nicely presented house with all mod cons. 10 mins drive to Alnwick and not not much more up to Bamburgh. We were very happy with our stay here and will almost certainly be back.

Lovely cottage well situated on the Northumberland coast. The cottage is very well equipped and nicely furnished. The only negative point is the stairs are a little steep and need to be used with care.

The cottage was a lovely place in which to stay. Our only moan was that the cistern handle on the upstairs loo was broken. We were able to fix it. The facilities were great for four of us and we really like the little sun room.

Lovely cottage - comfortable, bright and sunny accommodation. Enjoyed relaxing in the sun on the terrace, and watching the nesting birds right outside the window. Direct Path to Craster right outside the cottage made the walk easy. Excellent, good value meals in the adjacent pub was another bonus!
