A well maintained cottage with an exceptionably lovely garden. Honestly, the wildlife will blow you away. Hares, rabbits, squirrels, birds of all varieties, and of course all the local sheep. The owner, Ian was very pleasant and informed us where he lived, and to call on him if there was anything we needed. My husband is 6ft 4ins, and there are a fRead moreew places where he had to duck, but all in all, a lovely quiet, isolated premises with enough walks nearby to keep you busy for days. Hide

All in all, it was a wonderful cottage, and we had a marvelous time, despite a power cut and boiler breakdown! ( Fixed the morning after!) Owner Ian very helpful and apologetic. Woodburner was an absolute joy, really made the room cosy. We were entertained every morning by the birds feeding outside the patio doors, ( bring your own bird seed, nuts,Read more fastballs, and you will be rewarded.) Hide

Definitely a 'get-away-from-it-all' place to stay. Quiet and unspoilt. We were glad of the basket of logs because even in July it could be cool. Best of all was the instant access to multiple different walking routes. Having spent the last 18 months working from home stuck behind a computer I rediscovered my legs and progressed in 2 weeks from beinRead moreg exhausted and only managing two miles on the flat to doing a ten mile hike up and down Crossfell. Amazing views and very friendly hosts. Hide
