Stunning converted coach house with direct access to the Brecon Beacons and the Taff Trail cycling path, perfectly positioned for exploring the natural beauty of the region.

Surrounded by rolling hills and open skies, this attractive stone holiday home combines original features with contemporary style. One of a complex of properties close to the sleepy village of Groesffordd, this property is only 3 miles from the vibrant cathedral town of Brecon, with its shops, pubs and restaurants. Step out of the front door for long walks through the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons or enjoy spotting the constellation in the Brecon Beacons International Dark Sky Reserve. Discover the military history of the town at The Royal Welsh Museum and enjoy a walk along the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Why not take a barge trip along the canal and take in the scenery as you sail along the water? or a cycle ride along the Taff Trail, a traffic-free cycle path running through the glorious countryside, perhaps a visit to the spectacular Llangorse Lake (7 miles) for a picnic by its tranquil water.

Pull up onto the gravel driveway of your holiday home and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings with verdant hills and towering trees surrounding the cottage. Step through the door and into the spacious lounge where you will find polished floorboards, exposed ceiling beams and the original cart arched windows flooding the room with natural light. Sink into one of the plush sofas and chairs after a long walk and enjoy the warmth from the wood burner in the fabulous stone fireplace as you watch a favourite film on the TV and DVD player. The light and airy kitchen/diner with it's slate floors and exposed ceiling beams is an inviting space to prepare delicious dinners to share at the large dining table positioned in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out across the Brecon Beacons. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric double oven, five-ring halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and a freezer. You’ll find a washing machine and tumble dryer in the adjacent utility room and there’s a convenient cloakroom with a WC perfect for freshening up before supper. Handmade oak stairs lead to the first floor and the three well-appointed bedrooms, all with polished wooden floors and exposed ceiling beams creating a restful atmosphere. The spacious family bedroom has a double bed and a single bed and benefits from an en-suite shower room. There is also a comfortable double bedroom and a cosy twin bedroom, both enjoying wonderful countryside views. On this floor is also the spacious family bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle.

Venturing outside, enjoy the wonderful views as you sip your morning coffee or light the BBQ for a relaxed evening meal as the sun sets over the hills. The Brecon Beacons are accessible straight from the doorstep. The coach house sits within a Site of Special Scientific Interest so there is a wealth of rare wildlife and fauna to be found nearby. In season, orchids abound along the grass verges of the lanes; a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages. There is ample parking at the property and bike storage is available.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Alexanderstone Coach House. It is a lovely, very spacious property. All the rooms in the property are huge and the countryside location means that it is very peaceful. It is only a few minutes drive into Brecon for food shopping, eating out, etc. Everything was in good working order in the property and the owners weRead morere most helpful. We would definitely look to stay again should we be in the area. Hide

Great location, and better overall than the photos suggest. Quite separate from other holiday properties. Helpful owners.
