A super, converted barn in the Brecon Beacons surrounded by wonderful mountain views, where you can explore waterfalls, mountains and reservoirs. En route home, stop at the local pub before returning to the warmth of a roaring fire.

Nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park, with mountains, reservoirs, beautiful canals and views for miles, this converted barn is a delight. Half a mile from the village of Talybont-on-Usk, potter to the local shop and pub with ease. Brecon lies in one direction and both Crickhowell, with its range of independent shops and the foodie haven of Abergavenny lie in the other. The Brecon and Monmouth Canal with its pretty towpath runs nearby, or explore the River Wye and the River Usk. Walk from your door and up the lane to the foothills of the Beacons or perhaps head downwards to the country pub. Explore the local history at Tretower Castle and Court, White Castle and Raglan Castle, or spend a day rummaging through bookshops at Hay-on-Wye.

Set over one level with excellent access provisions for wheelchair users, this superb property offers a light and fresh interior that contrasts beautifully with the original exposed beams and stone fireplace. The very spacious and well-equipped kitchen has a dining table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer making mealtimes enjoyable, whilst the garden is accessed through the small utility room, equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. The bright living room is comfortably furnished with two sofas and a chair with French doors leading to the back garden. In the evening, light the wood burner and settle down to watch the TV or a DVD. There is also a top-quality sofa bed. The light and airy main bedroom has a super king-size bed, whilst the second bedroom has a single bed. The main bathroom has a bath, and there is also a shower room with wheelchair access.

The enclosed paved rear garden boasts a raised herb bed, and a ramp to the sunny, enclosed lawned garden makes it easily accessible. With a paved area and picnic table, enjoy al fresco dining at any time of the day. There is ample parking and unlocked covered storage for bicycles. Shop, pub and restaurant within 1 mile.

The cottage is a beautiful old barn. Everything we needed was there. Got to see the local wildlife, walks all from the front door. Excellent pubs near by.

Such a shame the owner is finishing with her holiday let after 30 years. We have already booked another cottage for next September which hopefully will be of the same standard as Cui Hen Beudy

Our stay at Cui Hen Beudy was fantastic, the accommodation was of the highest standard with the owner happy to assist with any enquiries. The location allowed easy access to the canal and many walking areas. Happy to give it a five star rating.

Cottage is lovely and in a great location, comfy bed and well equipped. Lots of wildlife + chickens and horses. Only downside was that when we entered the property there was a strong musty/damp smell coming from wetroom, we tried ventilating it but the smell never went away. We also found that they had only cleaned around furniture instead of movinRead moreg it as we moved one sofa forward and underneath had not been cleaned for a very long time, it was very dusty and had lots of different dogs fur there Hide

What a delightful spot! We stayed in this converted barn in May with the most glorious weather. The views from every window are beautiful and interesting, chickens, sheep and old apple trees all help to create a wonderful atmosphere. The house is comfortable for all members of our family. This cottage is perfect for dog owners with an enclosed garden and dog walks everywhere. 2 local pubs within half a mile but both closed on Mondays. Perfect location for visiting Hay on Wye, Brecon,Crickhowell etc.

This is a lovely cosy cottage. We loved the peace and tranquillity. But you are just 1/2 a mile from the village stores/cafe and good pubs, and the canal. You are within a few miles of lots of places of interest, but there are lots of lovely walks just outside the cottage. We woud not hesitate to recommend this cottage

The cottage and location were wonderful, very relaxing even the rain didnt dampen our spirits. It was lovely to be left with eggs from the chickens and lovely apple juice. We were made to feel very welcome and look forward to returning soon.

My husband, dog and I had a wonderful 4 nights' stay; the cottage is very spacious and the secure garden was fantastic for our dog to have a run about in. Lots of walks to do without having to get in the car. The log burner was a nice addition during a frosty stay!

Ive stayed in this cottage three times now and I have my fourth visit booked. Family came to visit me and theyd booked a week for themselves before the day was out. Its an absolutely fantastic place; peaceful and calming, but also incredibly convenient for a shop, pubs, a cafe and nearby towns. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. We had a wonderful week in this fabulous converted barn. It was very comfortable, well equipped and had everything one would need to make it feel like home. This is our perfect holiday destination. We had a lot of rain this week and the cottage is perfect if you are staying at a time when the weather is not kind. We still managed to get out every day but it is comforting to know you have a warm, cosy place to return to. The area is super for mountain biking and in the summer, motorcycling. Cui Hen Beudy is set in beautiful surroundings just a few minutes from the centre of Talybont. The accommodation is very spacious and spotlessly clean. We were given a really warm welcome. Would recommend it to anyone.

A comfortable well equipped cottage in a stunning location. Ideal for exploring the Brecon Beacons, with walks from the door. We enjoyed watching the chickens and ducks roaming around and saw a woodpecker on several occasions. A very peaceful spot for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely cottage in a lovely setting. Only disappointment was the village pubs weren't always open but there was a lovely pub in the neighbouring village Pencelli- The Royal Oak - where the food was great.

The cottage is delightfully comfortable and the location is very hard to beat. It is peaceful and quiet with a background serenade of exquisite birdsong to gently remind the guests that they are in a wonderful place.

Fantastic property. A convenient and lovely location, peaceful but not completely isolated. Extremely spacious inside and great outdoor space. Well equipped, I didnt want for anything and the eggs and apple juice were a real treat, not to mention delicious. I will happily stay here again.

What a treat! Our abroad trip was cancelled again, so we decided to venture somewhere quiet and scenic for NYE instead. This place certainly delivered! Sue was welcoming and the cottage was cosy yet spacious - kitchen well equipped, bedding was super comfy. The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL & the locals are so friendly.
