Rural and peaceful, this delightful hut is close to Talybont on Usk, with its four pubs, shop & post office, and coffee shop. With views over the meadows to the Usk Valley, The Allt and the Black Mountains, you’ll truly be immersed in beautiful countryside. From the door, walk along the pretty brook or onto the Taff Trail used by walkers and mountain bikers. The Henry Vaughan Walk along The Brinoyre Tram Road is a gentle stroll through the historic Talybont Valley, or climb a number of footpaths up to the Beacons. Hire a kayak and paddle the Brecon and Monmouth Canal, or walk along the River Wye and the River Usk. With Crickhowell and Brecon within 10 miles and boasting cafes, pubs, restaurants and small independent shops, there is something for everyone.

With the accommodation consisting of the hut and a purpose built, small barn for the kitchen, dining and shower room, it is easy to relax into country life. The hut itself is charming with a comfy double bed with luxurious linen, an antique oak Welsh settle, and a handy cupboard to store belongings making the most of the cosy space. The wood burner is perfect for creating a snug, romantic ambience, and for warming chilly toes. A few steps away from the shepherd’s hut is the purpose-built barn with kitchen, dining and shower room. The kitchen has a sink, fridge, microwave and electric hob, and a dining table and chairs to enjoy your meals in space and comfort. There is also plenty of useful information and maps about the area to help plan your days. The shower room contains a toilet, basin and walk-in shower.

The garden encompasses both the hut and the barn, and there's little better than cooking on the fire pit after a long day in the mountains. Make the most of the weather morning, noon and night by dining alfresco at the picnic table. There is off-road parking.
