Set off from your doorstep to enjoy hiking or mountain biking excursions, discovering the beautiful Black Mountains region and the impressive peak of Waun Fach (11 miles). For less challenging afternoons out, visit the village of Crickhowell (3 miles) to visit welcoming pubs or head to Hay-on-Wye (17.5 miles) to discover its many bookshops. And for music lovers, the popular Green Man Festival takes place just 2.5 miles from your door, ideal for those who don’t fancy camping.

Filled to the brim with traditional charm, this converted barn combines both original elements and contemporary style. Head inside via the vast glass doors and take in the spacious entrance hall. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped, with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. An oak dining table provides plenty of space for six to dine together. Continuing through the property, you’ll find the large lounge with sumptuous leather sofas to sink into after a long day of activities, enjoy a film on the TV/DVD and for cooler evenings settle in front of the blazing wood burner. Completing this floor is a cloakroom with WC. Heading upstairs via the handmade oak staircase are three bedrooms with sloping ceilings which are beautifully presented with original oak beams and wooden floorboards. The master bedroom is a double with a dressing table as well as an en-suite with shower and WC. The twin bedroom is perfect for children, and a final king-size room offers a versatile zip-and-link bed. Finally, you’ll find a family bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and WC, the perfect spot for a soak after a long walk.

To the rear of the property, you’ll find a delightful private courtyard, fully furnished with an outdoor dining set and a BBQ for warm summer evenings. Beautiful view, lovely comfortable cottage and owner very helpful with any issues. Great for a quiet and peaceful holiday and lots around to visit within about 30 min, such as Hay on Wye (Town of books), Raglan Castle and farm park, Abergavenny which also has a castle, Crickhowell, and Tretower Court and Castle. Would definitely recommend.

The view here is simply stunning. My friends and I spent hardly any time inside and wrapped ourselves up to stay outside and soak in the view. We watched the sunset every night. The sheep came up to the !SELECTED!fence !ENDOFSELECTED!every day, and the birdsong all day was wonderful. If you need some restorative rest and relaxation, book here!

A very comfortable stay in a remote barn conversion in a working farm in the black mountains. It is a large space with 3 bedrooms and a large living room. It is very well warmed by underfloor heating, you do not even need the fire, but it is a nice touch. Kitchen is well equipped. There are short walks to a number of local pubs and villages and treRead moretower Castle is well worth a visit. The black mountains are right behind the barn and this is a great base to conquer them from. Hide

We had a great holiday at Ty Cynfin Barn. The house was extremely well appointed, clean and comfortable. The view from the house is just lovely, there are local walks and it is possible to join the Brecon Beacons way by walking from the house.

A truly wonderful barn, which was a lot more spacious than it appeared to be on the website photos. It's a fabulously peaceful place to stay, being well away from the road and has absolutely stunning sunrise and sunset views that are second to none. We wanted to stay longer than our booked week but sadly it wasn't available. We'll be back. :) Hide

Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and everything you need is there. Spectacular view - you do have to drive up a farm track to get there so bear that in mind. Good location close to Hay and Crickhowell with Cardiff and Newport not too far away.

Weekend away hiking with mates, and this retreat was ideal. Quite rural, but beautiful scenery and easy enough to get anywhere with Crickhowell just down the road.
