A luxurious glamping retreat perfect for families, within verdant farmland surroundings and close to the well-known cycling hub of Talybont-on-Usk, the beautiful River Usk and the Talybont Reservoir.

Step into nature with a stay at this attractive, canvas safari lodge near Talybont. Sleeping up to six guests, the inviting holiday abode is perfect for guests seeking comfort as well as immersion in the great outdoors. One of three similar lodges on a farm in the Brecon Beacons, the lodge could be the perfect getaway for those who enjoy walking, cycling or fishing. Follow a 7.5-mile section of the Taff Trail from the Talybont Reservoir to the bustling market town of Brecon. Hire a canoe or take an organised trip along a stretch of the Monmouth and Brecon Canal which is a mere 300 metres walk. Drive 6.5 miles to walk up to the beautiful Blaen-y-Glyn Waterfalls.

With gorgeous valley views you enter your exciting holiday lodge via one step onto the veranda. Indulge in seamless inside-outside living thanks to the flow between the covered veranda space and the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Fire up your wood burner on chilly evenings and relax beside it with a good book. Pull up a chair for a hand of cards or set up a board game and gather around. Make warming meals in the kitchen inside or cook under the stars on the fire pit. As night falls, choose between a queen-sized bedroom, a twin room, or snuggle up and enjoy the unique experience of laying your head in the cabin bed area reached via a ladder. Finding your shower room is just as much part of the glamping experience, situated a few steps from the lodge within a self-contained pitch pod, with a shower and WC.

Stoke up the wood-fired hot tub in the morning and by the evening you will have the perfect place to soak in steaming water with a glass of something chilled. Roam the working farm around you to your heart’s content, ask for an official tour if you would like and let the children join in with feeding the chickens. Look out for wildlife in the pond, take out a rowing boat and even go for a swim if you wish. A communal wood-fired pizza oven cart is available for use.

We absolutely loved our time in Dove lodge. The weather was also fantastic which helped. But even still, the children were able to run free in the field, make friends and play games with the children in the neighbouring lodges. The lodge had all items we needed and the hot tub was an added luxury. We recommend lighting the hot tub straight away as Read moreit can take several hours to warm up, but its well worth the wait!! We walked along the path to the canal and local village which was lovely too. Hide

Dove Lodge at Gilestone Farm is an amazing glamping experience. We are a family of 5 with a 10, 8 and 2 year old. We found the tent to be absolutely spotless and it had everything we needed. It was incredibly cosy and welcoming. Even though we had some wild weather nights (very windy & rainy), we still had a fantastic time.
