There's so many attractions close to this cottage, visit the Big Pit, the National Coal Mine of Wales where ex-miners will lead you on an exciting and interesting tour. Or hop on the Heritage Railway to Pontypool or jump in the car and drive towards Abergavenny on the scenic mountain road where you can admire spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and rolling landscapes. And there are plenty more things to do that lie slightly further afield.

This lovely cottage has a real welcoming feel to it. Step up into the open-plan living space consisting of a spacious lounge area with a dining table. A wonderfully cool area during the warmer months with a wood burning effect electric fire to ensure you stay warm on chilly evenings. Put your feet up on the comfy corner sofa and switch on the TV for a relaxing night in or curl up with a good book and unwind. The stylish kitchen has plenty of space for budding chefs to cook up a tasty meal, a handful of appliances mean you can make light work of dinner times and the space is bright and inviting. Serve up at the table which comfortably seats four. When night falls climb the stairs to the first floor where three luxurious bedrooms welcome tired heads and heavy eyes. Drift off in these pleasantly decorated spaces before waking up to lovely views. A large family bathroom with walk-in shower, bath and WC complete this floor.

The outside enclosed courtyard garden is the perfect place to dine al fresco. With views over Coity Mountain you can enjoy far-reaching views without leaving the cottage. Fill your lungs with fresh Welsh air and sit amongst the flowers. When the weather is fine this area is bathed in sunlight so a garden umbrella is available to offer some shade. There's an outside WC in the courtyard too. Parking is available outside the cottage on the quiet street.

We appreciated the welcome gifts to start us off on the holiday. It was an ideal location for our Orienteering event and provided everything we needed to recover between events. The property is well cared for and provided a comfortable respite. We didn't spend much time in Blaenavon itself as we were travelling around the Brecon Beacon area.

We liked everything a lot (apart from the weather - but it could have been much worse...). Also the region offers a lot for walkers and very interesting museums. Good to live in a little miner's town and realize how very un-posh working people lived until not too long ago.
