Property code: BN218

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this attractive cedar cabin on the border between England and Wales makes an ideal honeymoon hideaway or romantic couples’ retreat.

Located just outside Hay-on-Wye near the Welsh Borders, this charming cabin is the perfect place for a romantic break for two. Spend slow hours browsing the bookshops that give the ‘town of books’ its international reputation, as well as the independent boutiques and antique dealers, before enjoying one of the many excellent pubs and restaurants. Alternatively, head south and you will soon find yourself in the Black Mountains or Brecon Beacons, where mountain biking, pony trekking and miles of stunning walks through glorious landscapes await.

Simple and stylish, the wooden cabin has an open-plan interior that maximises the space. The living area features a dining table and chairs, where you can enjoy a meal or plan your next adventure, or you might prefer to cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy a cosy evening in front of your favourite television show or movie. The fitted kitchen provides everything you need to cater for your stay, with the ingredients for a full English breakfast waiting in the fridge on your arrival. A double bed nestles at one end of the cabin, with curtains to separate it from the rest of the living space, and there is a separate shower room and WC.

Despite being set 20 metres from the owner’s property, the cabin feels very secluded, with a private veranda where you can enjoy evenings outside as the sun goes down on the panoramic views (blankets are provided to take off the chill if temperatures drop). Alternatively, a private patio with chiminea, outdoor furniture and BBQ, give you a place to dine alfresco under the pollution-free night skies. Guests are also free to roam the large 1-acre gardens, complete with orchard, or follow the footpath beside the cabin out onto the open hillside for a romantic picnic as the sun sets on another perfect day.

  • 1 bedroom with double bed

  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge
  • Welcome pack with flowers and full English breakfast ingredients

Had a fabulous stay at the Little Cedars Pavilion, just what we needed. Fantastic hospitality and extremely helpful host. The accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay, it's very pretty and great views from the verandah. Good WiFi connection, if required! It's also in a very quiet location but a short car drive away from Hay-on-WRead moreye, where there's a gorgeous Tapas restaurant 'Tomotitoes' that we'd definitely recommend. Hide

Absolutely loved every second of being there. The cabin was cosy and comfortable, everything that we needed was to hand. The layout of the grounds ensured maximum privacy for all. Owners were a joy, nothing to much trouble, around when they were needed, not intrusive but friendly and warm. Definitely want to go back.

A beautiful escape in nature. We loved staying in the little pavilion, its the perfect location close to popular hiking trails in the Brecon Beacons yet you feel completely secluded in that beautiful little garden - all you can hear is little birds and the sun goes up right above the pavilion. It has everything you need and the host went above & beRead moreyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We found fresh flowers and a welcome gift upon arrival, and everything was sparkling clean. Thank you!! Hide

Basically adequate and pleasant, very clean and well cared for. Flowers and items for English breakfast were a nice touch. Maybe over priced for what is there. Hot water supply variable and not reliable. Needs (rubber? Mat) something to prevent slipping in the shower cubicle.
