  • Large lawn for picnics and garden games
  • Walks from the front door across Carreg-Goch
Property code: BN248

A spacious two-bedroom bungalow enjoying a peaceful location beside the owner’s farm with easy access to the attractions of the southern Brecon Beacons.

Situated in a truly scenic location, adjacent to the owner’s farm and opposite Craig-y-Nos Castle, reputed to be the most haunted in Wales, this charming two-bedroom bungalow is ideal for families seeking to explore South West Wales. Step out of the front door for wonderful walks through the spectacular landscape, with the imposing Carreg-Goch mountain less than 500 metres away. Lace-up your walking boots and go in search of the wreckage of the crashed World War II Wellington Bomber high on the mountain. The National Show Caves of Wales (1 mile) are not to be missed with a tour of the three magnificent caves, including the chilling Bone Cave where 42 human skeletons dating back to the Bronze Age have been found. The cosmopolitan city of Swansea (22 miles) is well worth a visit and can be combined with a trip to one of the many stunning beaches of The Gower Peninsula (26 miles).

Park your car on the driveway and step through the gate leading to the bungalow’s garden. Follow the pathway to the front door and step through into the spacious entrance hall where there is plenty of room to remove shoes and outdoor clothing. Immediately to the right is the generously sized living room, a bright and welcoming space with artwork adorning the walls and a large bay window offering lovely views. After a long walk, sink into one of the plump sofas and relax in front of the wood burner effect electric fire as you catch up on your favourite programme on the TV. From the hallway, head through to the kitchen/diner where you will find everything you need for your stay including an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer. Enjoy your meals at the large dining table that comfortably seats all four guests. Off the kitchen is also a useful airing cupboard. There are two comfortable bedrooms within the property. The master bedroom is decorated in soothing tones with a large bay window looking out across the garden. There’s a double bed, and a dressing table and wardrobe for your belongings. The bright twin bedroom also benefits from views across the garden and comes with ample storage. Completing the accommodation is the family bathroom with electric shower over bath and WC.

Venturing outside, the bungalow is encompassed by a fully enclosed garden with a patio area with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Younger guests will enjoy playing on the lawn or spread out your blanket for a picnic beneath the trees. There is ample parking.

We found the Bungalow to be very comfortable, and it had all the necessary facilities that you would require for a holiday. It is ideally situated in the Brecon Beacons to enable visits to a number of interesting and varied attractions. It even had a Country Park on the opposite side of the road! Also very close to a number of excellent pubs and reRead morestaurants. Anne, the owner, was very helpful. Highly recommended. Hide
