Fishing can be enjoyed on this bustling river (1 mile), with salmon and brown trout ready to be taken home as catch of the day. Set off from your doorstep to enjoy glorious hikes and mountain bike trails, exploring the Black Mountain range (9 miles) or the Brecon’s tallest mountain of Pen y Fan (14 miles). Music lovers will appreciate the annual Green Man Festival, well accessible at just 3 miles away.

This traditional cottage has retained a lot of its original charm, with exposed stone walls and sturdy oak beams complemented by a classic countryside decor. Step inside and make yourselves at home in the cosy lounge, where comfy sofas and armchairs sit before a welcoming open fire. Enjoy the smart TV or pick one of the many games to enjoy together. Continue into the bright and cheery galley kitchen for meals and dining, making use of the electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher when it comes to mealtimes. Finally, the ground floor boasts a cosy single bedroom with a low door and en-suite shower room with WC. Head up the cottage-style stairs to find three further bedrooms and a family bathroom with electric shower over bath and WC. Two double bedrooms and one single ( which doubles as a study) can be found on various levels on the first floor, with the odd step up and down between them. One double has a TV for lazy mornings in bed, and all three rooms boast far-reaching countryside views.

This property boasts two beautiful outdoor areas to enjoy in the warmer weather. To the front, you’ll find an enclosed garden set to lawn, with flowerbeds and a spot to enjoy morning coffee. The cottage was beautiful, very clean and well appointed. There was plenty of kitchen equipment and there were plenty of books/games and puzzles to keep everyone occupied. The WiFi signal was a bit patchy because of the thick walls but we used a booster plugged into a socket in the kitchen which really helped. We had a lovely long weekend in Rock Cottage in May 2024. The cottage itself is extremely homely, very well equipped (with maps, books and board games), and with lovely front and back gardens. We fell asleep to the sound of the rushing steam adjacent to the cottage! The village is great, with two nice pubs and lots of walks from the door. Great location for walking the Brecon way, the Talybont reservoir and accessing Crickhowell with its boutiques and pubs. We had fantastic warm welcomes from the staff and locals in the White Hart in Talybont and the Red Lion in Llangynidr which lifted our spirits from the Welsh weather.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Owner was very helpful. Very narrow lane to the property to be aware of. Only downside was heating was not the best and we had to keep the open fire going as well to stay warm enough. Due to location the water pressure isnt great so dont expect a power shower.
