Situated in the picturesque village of Llangynidr, this delightful cottage is ideally suited for exploring the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park. Wander into the centre of Llangynidr (500 metres) to soak up traditional village life, popping into the welcoming pub or enjoying walks along the River Usk. Fishing can be enjoyed on this bustling river (1 mile), with salmon and brown trout ready to be taken home as catch of the day. Set off from your doorstep to enjoy glorious hikes and mountain bike trails, exploring the Black Mountain range (9 miles) or the Brecon’s tallest mountain of Pen y Fan (14 miles). Music lovers will appreciate the annual Green Man Festival, well accessible at just 3 miles away.

This traditional cottage has retained a lot of its original charm, with exposed stone walls and sturdy oak beams complemented by a classic countryside decor. Step inside and make yourselves at home in the cosy lounge, where comfy sofas and armchairs sit before a welcoming open fire. Enjoy the SkyTV/DVD or pick one of the many games to enjoy together. Finally, the ground floor boasts a cosy single bedroom with a low door and en-suite shower room with WC. Head up the cottage-style stairs to find three further bedrooms and a family bathroom with electric shower over bath and WC. Two double bedrooms and one single ( which doubles as a study) can be found on various levels on the first floor, with the odd step up and down between them. One double has a TV for lazy mornings in bed, and all three rooms boast far-reaching countryside views.

This property boasts two beautiful outdoor areas to enjoy in the warmer weather. To the front, you’ll find an enclosed garden set to lawn, with flowerbeds and a spot to enjoy morning coffee. Lovely old cottage with really nice front and back gardens. Fully equipped, great location for our walking holiday. The nearby Red Lion pub is great for decent evening meals and a few drinks. Enough facilities in the village to get you through the week. friendly owners. Some minor issues with the hot water/shower but we coped.

Absolutely loved our stay at Rock Cottage, beautiful scenery, walks and garden. Owners made us feel welcome and were accommodating. Great for our two dogs but need to keep an eye on them because of the garden wall. Lots of local information provided, has a friendly local pub, amazing canal walks.

Absolutely beautiful quiet location and character cottage. Very well located to access the River Usk and wonderful walks along the Brecon-Monmouth Canal. This allowed relaxing walks to Crickhowell and Talybont on Usk while taking in the very nice unspoilt countryside.

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful location. Superbly well equipped - even an extensive library. Maps for walks, loads of information and a lovely host. Very comfortable and warm. We loved the peace and quiet and the fabulous views from the garden. Don't miss the waterfalls near Talybont and the river in Llangynidr. Best food at The Bear in CrickhoRead morewell. Hide

Great cosy cottage with enclosed garden for dogs. Lovely location and great walks right on the doorstep. Village shop caf serves everything you might be short off and the attached caf serves good food and drinks. We recommend their Friday night Fish and Chips!

We had a fabulous stay. Lovely remote location, nice to hear the stream running alongside the property and the cottage had all the mod-cons. In fact, the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you could reasonably want to prepare delicious dinners and the hosts were lovely and helpful. The weather was awful during our stay, but there were plRead moreenty of games, dvd's at the property to keep us entertained. And the heating was superb. And great walks a short distance from the property. Hide

Well positioned, near but not too near main roads, plenty of walks of varying degrees of difficulty nearby, a cosy house with ample equipment in a long galley kitchen, including a supply of large teddy bears and toy cars, and a big library including John Le Carre. The welcome pack was much appreciated

A few things need attention. Upstairs bathroom has insect problem. The pit in the garden should be safely covered. There should be recycling containers and a wheelie bin.
