Stay in a lavish castle-style property on your next romantic getaway in the Brecon Beacons. This cottage is well located to explore and enjoy the area.

Stay in the small village of Llanfihangel Crucorney, set on the edge of the Black Mountains. You will only be 300 metres from a pub and a shop for all your necessary supplies. Offa’s Dyke Path passes through the village so you can access wonderful walks. Just 5 miles away is The Skirrid, a mountain situated in the Usk Valley. The National Trust Skirrid walking route takes you through woodlands and over mountainsides, offering superb views of the surrounding area. Abergavenny is 4.5 miles away, with its fabulous choice of gastropubs and restaurants to try. The city of Hereford is 18 miles away with access to the River Wye.

Entering this incredible property feels like you’re stepping into a fairy-tale castle. The oak kitchen has a traditional quarry tiled floor and all the amenities you will require for your self-catering holiday. The superb octagonal sitting room is light and bright, with a stone open fire, Knoll sofa, Georgiaa chairs and an original chandelier. Head upstairs using the original hand-carved oak staircase and access an elegant bathroom with a roll-top bath and black marble washstand with Italian basin. There is also a separate power shower. Up a few more steps is the impressive bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed, old oak floorboards, tall mullion windows and oriental rugs.

Outside is a beautifully maintained shared garden available for use. There is a tucked-away patio in the corner of the garden with a wooden gazebo, picnic bench and BBQ. The garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening after a day exploring the local area and walking the Brecon Beacons.
