Just 2 miles from Raglan, this characterful cottage with oak beams and exposed stonework is the perfect romantic bolthole for your self-catering getaway near the Brecon Beacons.

Raglan is the nearest village to this charming property. It’s 2 miles away and you can find a shop, pub and the impressive Raglan Castle to explore. The popular circular walk ‘Twyn-y-Sheriff’ is accessible from Raglan. Travel 6 miles to visit the market town of Usk, winner of Wales in Bloom for 37 years in a row. The beautiful town boasts its own Norman castle, an enchanting and special place to visit. Usk also has a small museum, walking trails and plenty of independent shops to spend a day visiting. The ‘gateway to Wales’ Abergavenny and the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park are 10 miles from the property, where you can really discover everything the area has to offer.

This beautifully converted barn has been renovated with character in mind. Oak beams and exposed stonework run throughout the cottage. The ground floor is open-plan, with an oak kitchen area complete with Belfast sink and all the amenities you will require for your stay here. There is also a dining table in the kitchen. Should you need to use a washing machine or tumble dryer during your stay, you can access the owner’s utility area to wash and dry your muddy clothes after a day’s walking. The living area has a beautiful exposed chimney breast with wood burner and a supply of logs. There is also a DVD player, sound system and TV for cosying down after a long day exploring. A spiral staircase leads upstairs to a large double bedroom and contemporary bathroom, which features a stunning Victorian-style claw foot slipper bath.

A door to the garden from the living area leads to a secluded and pretty patio area with table and chairs for enjoying al fresco dining. There is also a BBQ available for use. The owner has kindly marked out a short footpath that leads up to a bench in the neighbouring woodland (shared with owner) where you can enjoy a picnic and wonderful views of the area.
