Offering wonderful self-catering family accommodation, this spacious and friendly Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse is ideally located close to the heart of the historic market town of Brecon.

The property is set just a short walk from the centre of Brecon, with a wide range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, many of them within half a mile. Nearby attractions include the cathedral, the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh, Theatre Brycheiniog and the Canal Basin where you can join a boat cruise or enjoy a pleasant walk along the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. There are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, canoeing, pony trekking and fishing. Landmarks and attractions away from the town include Llangorse Lake (6.5 miles), Talgarth Mill (9 miles), Pen y Fan (6.5 miles), Tretower Castle (11.5 miles) and the Storey Arms Activity Centre (8.5 miles).

 

At the front of the house is the classic and ornately furnished dining room with ornamental fireplace which is an ideal space for enjoying a special occasion. The bright and spacious kitchen is equipped with a range of appliances including an electric oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine and a fridge/freezer. A steep flight of cottage-style stairs leads up to the first floor where you will find the light and cosy lounge with ornamental fireplace. This is a delightful space to relax in at the end of the day, where you can curl up on the sofa with a good book or watch a movie on the TV/DVD. The stylish bathroom is also on the first floor, with a bath, separate shower and WC. A second flight of steep cottage-style stairs leads you up to the second floor which is home to two attractive and lightly decorated bedrooms, both with king-size beds. The final flight of stairs leads directly into the large attic room with no door. This has been turned into a fabulous second sitting room which offers views across the Brecon rooftops and towards the Beacons.

 

The door from the kitchen leads out into a small but charming enclosed courtyard with patio furniture and one step down. Parking can be found in the nearby long-stay car park.

Fantastic townhouse, great location, decoration. Really comfortable, you do have to walk up and the stairs, but it is a town house. Can?t wait to go back!

The cottage was very well equipped and an excellent location. Nice extras like a foods cupboard with lots of basics and a large supply of coffee.
