Located on the border of Cornwall and Devon, this is an ideal base for touring both the north and south coasts and all the many treasures in between. From your doorstep there are a host of walks that lead you through the Tamar Valley, with its World Heritage status, and the rugged Dartmoor National Park. Cotehele National Trust property is less than a mile away. The historic town of Tavistock with its pannier market isn't far away and offers a wealth of restaurants, pubs, shops as well as cinema and swimming pool. Local pub in the village offers a cosy welcome, with wood burning fires, live music, food, drink and coffee

On entering this spacious single-storey property, which is located next to the Owners Georgian Country Home, you will be greeted with the beautiful wooden panelling and exposed beams and will find yourself in the inviting lounge/kitchen/dining area. You can relax in the cosy and welcoming lounge, with a 43" Smart TV/DVD and snuggle up in front of the charming traditional wood burner. The dining area is pleasantly situated by the double French doors which lead out onto the patio. Moving across to the kitchen, you will find everything you will need including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Just off the lounge/kitchen/diner you will find the comfy double bedroom complete with TV and en-suite shower room with WC.

Stepping outside from the living area, you can relax and unwind in the delightful enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture and BBQ. Find your inner Italian flare and try a pizza in the  wood fired pizza oven.  You will also have access to the large shared exercise paddock for pets, and even a hot and cold outdoor shower for dogs.

Lovely cottage, great for exploring the local area. We've stayed in a few different places & this was by far the best equipped. Everything we needed for a weeks break. The small garden was big enough for our dog, but maybe on the small side for a bigger or 2 dogs, there is the paddock which looked great. Very well presented accommodation. Particularly suited for those with a canine companion as there is a small secure garden as part of the property and a generous, secure paddock which, with the kind permission of the owners, is available for safely exercising your pet.

We had a wonderful stay here, as did our dogs. Beautiful, peaceful location - the Tamar Valley is stunning. We fell in love with Dartmoor which is just a short drive away and the North Coast has some little gems of hidden coves and beaches if you go off the beaten track. Easy access to the South Coast too. A beautiful property in a lovely location. We had a lovely stay at The Lantern. It had everything we needed for a comfortable weeks holiday. The pub in the village is a bonus, although we didn't get to eat there. The garden was very secure for our dogs and the paddock was their favourite place to play. A perfect home from home. Great base to visit all the coast line in north cornwall and over the border into Devon. Quiet location and the garden is a perfect sun trap. Owners were very friendly and gave great advise on the local area. A great holiday.

We had a fantastic stay at The Lantern over Christmas. It was the perfect size for us whilst we were visiting friends and relatives over the festive break. Very close to local pub and great walks nearby. We would definitely stay again!

We had a fabulous week here. The cottage feels very remote but is in fact very close to Tavistock. We explored Dartmoor and even went to see the famous Brunel bridge over The Tamar. We walked straight out onto lovely paths to Cotehele across woods and fields. It was nice to have outside space too. It was too warm to have the wood stove lit but how Read morethoughtful to have one in the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The cottage is well thought out and easy to live in. Great cottage in great location for travelling around. Paddock area was excellent for the dogs early morning exercise and evening run around. Owners were lovely and even arranged to have a couple of jackets parcelled up and sent to us after we accidentally left them behind. Really enjoyable holiday and just what we needed.
