Enjoying a lovely position at the top of a private garden, this welcoming holiday property is located close to Hay-on-Wye at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Accommodating two guests, this cosy wooden cabin provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway to South Wales.

Sitting at the top of the owner’s garden, this cabin is the perfect spot for exploring Hay-on-Wye, the Wye Valley, and the wider Brecon Beacons National Park. Found in the hamlet of Clyro, the property is close to a village shop and two pleasant pubs. Hay-on-Wye is only 1.5 miles away and is the perfect place to spend your time if you are interested in reading. It is said that every book published has passed through Hay-on-Wye at some point and it’s easy to believe once you’ve seen the sheer number and the size of the bookshops in town. There is also a large variety of shops, pubs and eateries in Hay-on-Wye as well as a theatre and a cinema to discover. Coincide your holiday with the famous Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival that takes place each May and June – it’s fantastic; also visit the remains of the town’s 12th-century castle. Further afield, you will find walking trails and mountains such as Pen-y-Fan, Sugar Loaf, and Corn Du, as well as Brecon Beacons towns such as Crickhowell (22 miles), Abergavenny (26 miles), and Brecon (15 miles).

Compact and cosy, this beautifully decorated holiday property is a lovely prospect for a quiet break away for two. Accessed via a short and wide staircase, after crossing the decking you will encounter the open-plan cabin. On the left-hand side is a restful double bed where you can unwind after a long day of touring the Wye Valley. On the right-hand side of the front door is the seating area with a Smart TV. In a connecting room, you will find a well-equipped kitchen, complete with an electric cooker, a fridge/freezer, and a breakfast bar. Windows look out into the woodland area that skirts the property. Next door to the kitchen is a handy shower room with WC and hand basin.

Step outside the cabin onto the decking where you can enjoy some excellent views of the countryside. There is a small table where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening drink. There is a BBQ and firepit a few metres down the garden if you fancy relaxing outside at the end of your day. There is parking close to the bottom of the garden steps for one car. You are welcome to explore the owner’s acre of gardens with a small orchard.

A lovely 3 night stay in this cosy cabin. Clean, comfortable and well designed. Homely touches were appreciated. Excellent heating. Great views, veranda is a lovely breakfast spot, enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. Cabin is at the top of the garden with 2 cabins below, owners live to the side. Whilst you can see all of this, we still felt like wRead moree had lots of privacy. Hay on Wye is an easy 1.5 mile walk, perfect base for exploring the area. Jodie is a fab host and nothing is too much trouble. Hide
